Pneumothorax
Just wanted to tell you all what i've been doing for the past week. So i was at work, right? I felt fine all day and then the clock hit four and it was time to go home, and thats when it happened, shazam.
It felt like i had 5 litres of water or something in my lungs and i almost choked at the spot, i was hospitalized for 7 days, and had a tube in my lung for the whole time.
Thing is.. I've smoked for 14 years. Every day for 14 years. And now I quit, it was the hardest fucking thing i've ever done, its a month now and its still making me crazy. And then 2 weeks later this happens.
My 'reward' if you will

Anybody had this? Heard about this?
Im twenty-fucking five, this should not be happening to me.

Don't start smoking again
Aw man. I was hoping this was going to be another starcraft thread.
hope you recover
wish you all the best
Are you a tall, thin male? If you are, apparently that's why you have this particular plague, not because you smoke.
Smoking will make it go away. You should go right ahead and light one up.

| Primary spontaneous pneumothorax is most evident to people without any previous history of lung disease and in tall, thin men whose age is between 20 to 40 years old. But it can often occur in teenagers and young adults. |
Yeah for the most part, it's idiopathic...meaning no-one really knows what the cause of it is. That is, in the case of a closed pneumothorax, like what you have.
It might be secondary to another disease though...so I hope you're having some follow up tests done.
It's the smoking...super serious.

Chronic smoking increases a male's chance of spontaneous pneumothorax by 22 times due to chronic interstitial inflammation.
omg i need a cig
THANKS GUYS
quite common really..
now a tension pneumothorax is the one to brag about
Just goes to show that the only thing one should smoke is the stuff that's green.

So you were listening to the band, Collapsed Lung?

Re: Pneumothorax
why would you start smoking at age 11 anyway?
Had one of these before.. but it was due to an impact.
It was suppose to heal fine.. didnt'.. so they put hte chest tube in . It healed 90 % they took the tube out.. but then it collapsed again. I had to go back to the hospital and put the tube back in.
totaly of 2 or 3 weeks in the hospital.. There went my summer.
First of all id like to say thanks for the kind words to all of you who bothered..
