+1... my brother almost rented one of them but he realised that even making a giant bucket of coffee would be cheaper.

not worth the money. just buy a regular coffee machine and put twice as much in the filter thingy.

+1 !!!

I spend so much money buying gourmet coffee that I believe buying one for $600+ would be worth my while.

What I suggest you do (what I would be doing had my parents not promised me one as a moving-away gift) is keep an eye out in department stores. I work at Sears and we put a LOT of good quality machines on clearance just b/c new models are coming in and we need to get rid of the older stock (which functions just as well as the new stuff). Look out in Sears and the Bay ... wait for a weekend when they put clearance on sale (usually once a month) and go in and pick it up. Usually it drops down to about 30% off of the already reduced clearance price. IMO this is the most effective way of buying a good quality machine without spending major bucks.

ive been checking ebay and im with you on the price. i am expecting 600-900 for a machine but i want something that other people have used. i'm pretty picky about it. alot of them steam too hard and i cant stand that.

Only machine you need.

Unless you mean you want cappuccino.

Yup. Best $25 I've spent was ona moka express. Steam from the bottom pushes water up through this cylinder which contains fine coffee grounds to produce coffee that is equivilant to espresso. If you want your latte, just heat some milk up in a pan and pour into the a cup with the coffee. It won't produce a foamy top, but spilling out a couple hundred just for that is just really gay. It's just as good, and much, much cheaper.

there is a difference between steamed milk and milk that is heated. esp. of your anal about that kind of shit along with everything else culinary

get a saeco aroma. those things are f-ing bulletproof, not to mention a good deal.

they arent automated, and you may need a grinder too, but with some practice you can make exactly what you want and dont need to worry about a 1100 dollar machine crapping out on you, which they eventually will|

you cant steam with that and also that doesnt make espresso. fucking idiot.

They all tend to make noises like they're going to go "BANG!" at any moment and I don't really like coffee enough to live with the fear of the possibility of it actually exploding in my own home...

YATZEE BITCH.

there is a huge difference between espresso and coffe. its not just about the caffiene. some people actually drink coffee for more then the buzz.
