Contribute to the (trance) community and win signed single!

Right, going out on a limb here and doing some promotion for a site which is sponsored by trance.nu. But i hope most of you will see the greater good in this.

About 4 years ago, trance.nu started a trance-related wiki with the intention to create the worlds largest trance encyclopedia. And the wiki-format suited us perfectly. It now contains over 2,913 articles (3,104 total pages in the database). We've had some technical issues over the winters but it's now back in full force.

And to celebrate that, trance.nu and armada are giving away 5 copies of Armin van Buuren & Dj Shah feat. Chris Jones - Going Wrong signed Armin van Buuren. All you need to do is to contribute to the wiki. The five best articles between 1st of April and the 1st of May will win! The wiki staff will select the five best articles on the 1st of May 2008. The winners will be notified via email and on this wiki! The single will be sent via snail-mail!

I'd also like to take this opportunity to mention that our idea is not to build the trance.nu encyclopedia, but rather the trance encyclopedia. We're just hosting and maintaining the project. And let is know if you want to co-manage the wiki, we have no prestige in this and would love some TA sysops over there!

Do you not realise there are stupid (or average) people in the world? You really can't be subjective can you?

Also dude... the amount of content on the wiki atm sucks. Tons of articles are just albums by a single person with no content at all. Discogs has a more thorough description per album then that (like genre for example).

for example looking up goa trance

Goa is a sub-genre of Electronic Dance Music. It's name comes from a city in India from which the genre emerged.

Seriously only gets that much space? Goes to prove the trance.nu community is very narrowminded as I originally thought.

Again, it's not trance.nu driven content. Anyone could have written that, even a TA-member. Thats kind of the point of the wiki.

You guys know damn well that if TA would've gotten it's hands on this wiki it would've most likely have gone to shit by now with all negative comments and cock-baggery....unless there was heavy modification and a staff of people making amendments on a steady basis.

.....no that there's anything wrong with that, but it's probably not the goal in mind.

i dont think its a bad idea either, its a bit pathetic atm, but thats because its in its youth, might be quite handy in the future

Thanks mate, and that is why i was so careful to point out that it's not a trance.nu wiki. And that we invite any TA-member to apply for sysop-rights. The idea is to build a encyclopedia which both TA, TNU, DI, IVIBES etc members can enjoy and support.

You will never see any (global) commercials on it, neither for trance.nu nor tranceaddict.com.
