I hate Facebook but..

...I use a friend's account just so I can browse, and I think I may have found my little sister (who was just over a year old last time I saw her).

Do I make an account just to contact this girl??


Contacting her is not the issue...it's having a Facebook account, lol.

Also, if I make an account, does it automatically import contacts from my hotmail or whatever?? Cause I don't want it to.

no, you can choose to do so when you're searching for friends (import from msn/aim) but like myspace, you start out with zero no matter what email you use.

also, if you are worried about spam and stuff, just make up an alt email on hotmail or msn or yahoo or something...you don't need a .edu to become a part of facebook now anyway

I know exactly what you're talking about. There's someone on facebook I'd like to get back in touch with but I never got around to it because the last time I tried creating an account I kept getting added by a bunch of douchebags from high school who I'd hoped had forgotten me.

when they ask to be your friend do what i do and ignore them. if it gets too annoying after a while put them on limited profile and maybe they'll take the hint.

Yeah the problem is a bunch of them still have my email, so then I get whiney emails asking why I'm not adding them.

facebook doesn't tell you if someone ignored your request...if they are keeping such close tabs on you then that's a problem. if they are desperate put them on the limited profile list and block them from reading your wall and seeing your pictures, if they can't see those they'll lose interest in you.

Im ashamed to admit i actually signed up for facebook, even though it was for a good cause 8to stay in touch with a friend that moved far far away) i figured fuck that site, ill just call her more often.

Also i found most of my old high school friends on there. And almost all of them have this stupid applications installed that allowes them to buy people, send tem teddy bears or do all kinds of inane things. I would have thought they would have grown out of it by now, the only app i have installed is the poker one which i installed on the day i signed up. I havent used it once, since i only visited the site twice since i signed up for it.
