Discussions with musical retards
Ok so I'm sitting her on beatport previewing some tracks, and teh guy next to me hears the music (I guess my headphones are loud.. I've lost about 70% of my hearing so I have it up LOUD) and he goes, "Oh wow man! Thats some good techno!! Here, you should try this one!" and he goes to youtube and pulls up the video for "Cascada - Everytime We Touch."
WTF... the track I was previewing was "Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink (James Holden Remix)"... how do you even correlate a masterpiece like that to the total poop water that is Cascada...
WOW...
I tried so hard to carry a conversation about electronic msuic with this kid but jesus... The real kicker was when he went, "Have you heard Castles in teh Sky by Paul Oakenfold? Its so cool man!" and procedes to play that track... followed by DJ Sammy - Heaven. Good GOD it was so painful!!!! I swear, it was like a power drill in my eardrums hearing him play euro-shit-cheese-poop techno over and over thru youtube...
Anyone else had a similar discussion with a person with shall we say.. far less evolved tastes in electronica than yourself? I was trying so hard not to be rude lol. Finally he walked away... its hard to carry a conversation with someone as deaf as myself LOL.

Get over it. People who don't know EDM will always classify everything as Techno.
Most of my friends are like this about dance music and it's really annoying.

It happens all the time to me when I say I like trance. They ask waht it is, and then say... "oh Techno!!" 
I then say something like that. 
It's difficult to really describe it to people so i no longer bother.
