Visiting Miami for the 1st time

Hi All,

I'm visiting Miami for the first time at the end of April (24-29), and was looknig for some suggestions of things to do in the area. I'm staying in SoBe on Ocean Drive, and besides going to the beach, i'm not sure what else is out there. Also, if you have any restaurants recommendations, i'd like to hear.

I'm also looking for club recommendations. I know that Boris is playing that sat, but I'd like to visit space one night. Which night is best? What about mansion or Opium Garden or Nikki Beach? Logistics wise, what time do parties start? what time should i show up to avoid lines? Are there any guest lists? How much do clubs charge for covers? drinks?

your help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance!

Space is great Saturday night but *especially* Sunday Morning. It's the best afterhours and highly recommended to new visitors!

Sunday afternoon/Night is all about Nikki Beach.

I think 12 is a good time to get to clubs..

Entrance is usually about 20$..I know Mojitos @ Nikki are about 12$ but worth every single penny.

Wet Willies is on 8th and Ocean and they have the BEST frozen beverages. It's good to lay out on the beach around that area so you can make Wet Willie's runs. They are pretty cheap too.. 7 or 8 for a medium. That is if I remember correctly. Haven't lived in Miami for a year now.

Space Sunday mornings are a must. Even with Residents the place is sooo much fun!

A word of advise...if you have females with you it's always a lot easier getting into the clubs in South Beach. Even with a group of girls you'll have to wait outside the velvet ropes for a little while. SET is a great place to check out, Mokai, like Mel said you've got to check out Nikki Beach on Sunday. Be careful going downtown which is where Space, Nocturnal & Park West are. It's a rough area so just don't wonder off the main drag. Hope you enjoy Miami!

I was wondering if it was possible to get in Nikki beach with only 2 males ?
I was in Miami for the WMC and I didn't find the downtown so rough, we took the bus at Omni station by night and everything was OK, maybe it has improved ...

You can go.. if you get there eaarly.

Nikki is a place where you can get there mid-late afternoon and stay till night

Thanks for the advise!! It will just be me and my gf going to Maimi, so i don't anticpiate the problems of waiting in line w/a group of 20 dudes to get in.

What type of music is usually played at space? nikki beach? I assume that it's mostly house....but is there any trance?

Unless there is a party with the locals.. There is prob no trance going on that weekend.

Miami is run by house, trance parties are few and far between

I wasn't going to reply at first but I gotta challenge the statement that you have to go out early or with girls or face not getting in anywhere...I've been partying in miami for years, sometimes alone, sometimes with only male friends, sometimes in groups, early or late, and have never had trouble getting in anywhere I was going. Your mileage may vary.
