Las Vegas Help

Come one come all, I need some Vegas help from all you TA's. I'm sorry if this is in the wrong area, I didn't see a place for Vegas (pretty weird actually)

I will be going to Vegas in October for my G-friends 30th. I am planning and reserving everything now. I have already made hotel reservations at Planet Hollywood for $362.00 for 3 nights.

I am now looking for a few things that perhaps you could help me out with.

#1 I want to get tickets to Zumanity, can you recommend a place to buy tickets at a discount.

#2 What are the hot clubs to go to?
Who to contact, or how do I get on their lists?

#3 Recommendations...

note: I have been to Vegas several times, so I am not looking for firs timers advice.... just the insiders advice....

You basically go to their store the day of the show you want to see, and they have tickets for up to half off. The only problem is you can't really plan ahead because they don't know which tickets they'll have ahead of time. I think they buy the leftovers or something.

Anyways it's on the strip and it's worth checking out. They also have discounts on buffets and stuff but we didn't try those.

I just got back from Vegas and the clubs there are beautiful but it seems to be mostly Top 40/hip-hop on weekends. I went to Tao, Body English, Empire Ballroom, and Druis.

Empire Ballroom and Druis are both afterhours clubs so they open late but def had the best music. Empire is more like a club and Druis is more like a lounge meets afterhours. Druis was def more fancy than Empire - no ravers, mostly well dressed partying crews. And Empire has very little to no places to sit unless you get a table.

For shows, check the thread at the top with the Nevada events listings. I post them when I get them.

im out there once a month and this is it in a nutshell:

on fri/sat nights - vegas sucks for edm - and only places are at the afterhours - Drais or Empire Ballroom - these dont get fun or crowded till after 4am. Teatro just opened and plays house - small, good chunes - they had a friday night and i saw miguel migs spin, but that was opening night, not sure if they are still doing the friday night thang tho.

sometimes they play house on the patio of pure, but sometimes the patio is closed...

jet/tryst/lax/moon/all the clubs in ANY hotel all play hip hip on fri and sat nights.

just went to Cathouse in luxor last weekend, while they played hip hop, they played alot more dance-y/remix songs (that is as close to edm you can get)

but on week nights, there are some really good choices:
moon on sunday nights
jet on thurs nights
tao on tues nights
body english is godskitchen at wed nights

I have a couple hosts that basically can get you in anywhere, just have to tip a lil extra.

Drais/Empire are def the places to hear house. There is also Seamless which is an after hours/stripclub.

Sunday day...Rehab starting next Sunday. There is also the new Wet Republic @ MGM coming soon for day party.

They actually play house music @ Wynn around the topless (European bathing) section on the weekends. (during the day)

Tao Beach might be another cool day chill spot.

Nightclubs (before afterhours) I'd reccommend Tryst, Jet and LAX. Planet Hollywood has a new nightclub by the Opium Group called Prive'

Faarsheed, Jack LeFleur and DJ Scotty Boy all come out of LV so check out their myspace pages to see if they are playing anywhere.

Let me know if you need some hosts to get you in to clubs w/ no wait.

Oh...when going to most Vegas clubs. Wear a collared shirt and dress shoes. (T-shirt and sneakers don't work at most places)

these are the only good nights here. **except for the locals night at empire, that can kick ass also.**

However, in regards to the original post, October is years away, all these clubs could be torn down and replaced, the replacements torn down and replaced by the time Oct rolls around. Check back in August and we will see what is gonna be good.

Just remember, bring more money than you would ever want to spend on a weekend of clubbing with you every night, then you will have fun it's expensive!

and I give you a hell yea for the collared shirts and nice shoes. they will not let you in if they don't like the way you are dressed. Although monday night at Jet I usually get in with T-shirt and jeans ;P

thanks for the great posts. I have been to vegas several times, and I know all about the dress codes and what not, I was looking for what you guys thought of each club, and where.. and when to find good EDM. It looks like there is only a few options. I will be there thur - sun..

Another good idea is to go early to the clubs that have handstamps...like Pure and Tao.

Get your stamp...leave...go back when the club gets better.

I would have to agree, because a ton of people want to visit vegas from all over the world, this way we can go to that section, and view upcoming events for when we are going....

Pure normally has its pussycat doll lounge open in the early evening and if you have a $20 drink min. you will get a stamp for the club later NO WAIT, NO COVER. So get a couple shots b4 dinner and youre set.
Tao I have a friend who works there and can get you on a free guestlist depending on the ratio you have. Its a ways away, but let me know closer to the date.
