Help!! Speaker problem

I need some help as i recently bought a pair of Tapco S5 speakers and a Tapco LinkUSB which runs into the USB slot on the side of my macbook pro running leopard. When i use the speakers with cubase 4, i've noticed that they 'pop' at random times, especially when i loop a short section. I've checked all the cables and everything seems fine. What i find strange is that when i use the speakers on the same laptop, but through logic 8, i notice that they don't pop anymore! Im therefore guessing that the problem is cubase related but my version is up to date so im not sure what my next step is. If anyone has any idea how i could solve this problem i would be extremely grateful for your advice. Thanks.

Try increasing your soundcard buffers and make sure you're running ASIO with latest drivers

Since you paid for Cubase, you could always call Steinberg tech support.
