3/4 of those clubs are closed now.

Hell, DISCOTHEQUE, Spirit, Crobar, Avalon are all still listed. and they've all been closed over a year, some 2-3 years.

Check out Pacha on West Side, 46th Street btwn 11th and West Side, theyre open Fridays and Saturdays
www.pachanyc.com for info and lineup.

Try Cielo on Little West 12th Street in Meatpacking.
Wednesdays - Louie Vega / Kevin Hedge
Thursdays - Dance.Here.Now. - Club World Award Winner 2008 - Best Party.
www.cieloclub.com for full lineup and info.

Anything else thats going on, really not worth it.
Shelter on Sundays if you're into Deep House/Tech House.

The scene in New York is really dead right now. Thank you Guiliani / Bloomberg

^^ I don't know if you know them personally, but imo it's rude of you to call GTS3gEclipse a moron when they were posting helpful information.

Disagree...it's not like 2001, but it's way better than it was 1.5-2 yrs ago, imo. It's shifted to where smaller clubs are more fun than the big ones, but it's alive and kicking.

My choices:

-Love is my top choice overall, Sat nights tend to be best for house/trance/techno, with fri nights showcasing dubstep/breaks/non-mainstream style. Check www.musicislove.net for the lineups as they vary widely.

-Sullivan Room is a great intimate venue as well on a weekend, usually house or techno. www.sullivanroom.com

-Deep Space Mondays @ Cielo are reaching legendary status w/ Francois K. Fancy, but still fun. www.cieloclub.com

-Pacha is OK if you can deal with the crowd. Talent there is absolutely top notch. www.pachanyc.com

-Webster Hall is coming back strong, like it or not, haha. Ongoing remodeling, improved sound, and lots of top talent over the next few months. www.websterhall.com

Have you been on Fridays at all?
This past friday there were hardly any guidos...it was all euros, swedes and tourists, older and good looking.

You guys just seem to hate for the fun of it.

Are you upset that Avalon is closed?

Yea, I liked Avalon. All except that co-ed bathroom...

Whatchoo talkin bout? I bet you just wandered into the little boys room...

lol, no srsly.

It wasn't that bathroom upstairs on the side. That was a fairly spacious ladies room with the atm outside. And I don't think it was the one that was past the room past the smoking area.

It was the other one... the one with the guy peeing with the door open. And chicks in there too! Skeery!!

Fridays have plenty of "undesirables", but any big club is going to have that. I have a good time there, but let's not live in a magical land where Pacha is full of euro-snobs and is guido-free

Excellent, you'll definitely have a good time. Francois plays a very diverse mix of tunes there. My advice though, would be to try and get there early so you can get in easily.

yeah i should have a good time anyway.

Suzie Wong's, Pink Elephant, Mansion, Guesthouse - house clubs with tons of good looking women, more than likely you will have to shell out money for bottle service.

By the way, Francois K runs the gammit of music, plays everything from house to techno to hip hop to jazz to everything. Kind of annoying if you are just expecting a house or techno set.
