Menno De Jong - Friday May 2nd @ Red Lite

Posted by PezCore on Apr-15-2008 04:17:

finally red-lite goes trance a bit.. it's time they realise there is some good money to make here ! I'm there for sure, missed him at BeB, and he had the best tracklist of the night !

My facial expression went from this when seeing "Menno De Jong - Friday May 2nd", to this when I saw "@ Red Lite".

Seriously is Red Lite that bad??

Posted by Neo Hacker on Apr-15-2008 12:35:

that's nice...

amazing booking, never been to Red lite..I guess this will be my first time there and third time seeing Menno in 4 months.

Posted by Nekya on Apr-15-2008 17:22:

WOah thats cool...
I'm not from mtl and i don't know much about the trance scene of this city...

How is the redlite and what might be the play time of Menno... Can we except a lot of people there?

And also theres VictorCalderone on may 3rd if i remember well so i guess it would be a good weekend to go to mtl...

I only saw the first half of Menno and i missed Victore at Beb so it would be a great time to catch up!

its not that bad, its just a much different crowd than at stereo or circus. Think of mostly 18-23yr old laval kids as the majority of the people in the club. good booking for redlight tho, i might come to this.

Menno will probably come on at 4-5ish, and im guessing it will be decently packed. When i saw sander there last summer it was pretty packed.

It's not bad, it's just way younger and out in Laval. The former doesn't bother me, the latter makes it impossible for me to ever want to go there since I'll never find someone sober enough to drive me at 3am on a weekend night.

Hmmm...

*considers an early trip to Montreal*

Me going to Red Lite is as unlikely as pigs flying..but I love Menno and the fact that I missed his set at BeB makes me wanna go despite the fact that I don't like the place + crowd at all, and it's soooo freaking far and such a hastle getting there and coming back at 8 AM.. ugh

Can someone tell me how to get there from downtown (St-Laurent metro) ? Thanks.

Posted by zoogla on Apr-16-2008 23:01:

I was at Red Lite for NYE a while back, when Armin was there. The club itself is okay, but I loved the VIP area up top.

Posted by DK Man on Apr-16-2008 23:50:

That was an Awesome night NYE with Armin! I'm in, Red Lite is easier access for me then Stereo or Circus so I'm there! Plus Menno set at Bal en Blanc was sick, too bad I was really tired!
Dom K.
P.S. Menno, Sander, Sebastien Leger great booking by Red Lite!!!

you enter your address, red lite's address, and they get you a route

Posted by julien2 on Apr-17-2008 02:20:

Fuck taking the metro + bus all the way there.
If I get a lift there, I'll consider it. =)

I usually never party outside of downtown, unless it's like James Holden at Piknic..
I like to know I can run home in case something happens.

Posted by julien2 on Apr-19-2008 16:14:

But James Holden WAS downtown ! Ile ste helene = one metro station from berri uqam

and tecnically, the island is on Ville-Marie arrondissement territory

but yeah, i understand what you mean

Posted by Mr Moss on Apr-19-2008 16:33:

yeah taking a bus back downtown after a night there must be brutal

looks like an interesting outing though

Posted by fullhouse on Apr-20-2008 07:28:

It's a whole other scene compared to everything else...

For them, Stereo is sketch in the sense it's jam packed with aroused men

The residents are sick, but the music is of a different ambiance

some dark, deep shit that fits the underground warehouse image

But them bringing names like these attracts a whole different crowd

SVD last summa had nothing to do 'security/pusher'-wise with what it is
on an Uppercut or Mark mothafuckin Anthony night (he's fucking psy--cho
Mark Anthony, nuts!) Short wait to get in and the dancefloor was
actually more packed then the bathroom, if you know what I mean. Crowd
was young anda bunch of recognizable faces from nights au centre ville.
even Sharam I heard wasn't sketch.
