Love Welcome to the Equipment Recommendation Forum!

That's right!

Step right up and we'll tell you the "right" MIDI keyboard, monitors, VSTs, hardware synths, and sequencer to get, because we all know that making great music is like hammering a nail into a piece of wood: as long as you have the correct tool, it's a piece of cake.

I have a crazy friend who says that even if I had a billion dollars worth of gear, I'd still need to spend a few years learning how to mix before my songs will sound good.

Is he crazy?

Please tell me it ain't so!

Fart into a microphone and then put the recorded sound in your sequencer. Repeat it twice per measure (in a regular eighth note pattern). Put a huge reverb (at least ten seconds long) on that.

Add a signature Sean Tyas kick at 240 BPM.

Using an EQ on the master bus, add a 12dB boost at 100Hz to get yourself some beefy low end. Then play the whole thing through an overdriven tube amp and record it onto analog tape.

Leave the tape in the hot sun (at least 95 degrees Fahrenheit [35 degrees celsius]) for at least four days. This will give your track the extra warmth that every producer craves.

Then send the results off to Armin and Tiesto.

Perfect pr0 soundz!

what is a note?
i want to make progressive dream techno liek sammy ffs! not mozart!!!

Posted by MrJiveBoJingles on Apr-16-2008 02:52:

It's okay if you don't know what a note is. Just remember to put two fart recordings for every Sean Tyas kick drum!

And the final step -- warming up your tracks using the natural analog power of the sun -- is the most important one.

ROFL Well we can tell this thread ain't goin nowhere. And by the way, I have heard many, many, many trance tunes that don't use hardware (besides computer ) that sound great. I don't know why you say you need hardware cause its anal-log. If a tune is good, a tune is good no matter what you play it on

i want to make trance like Greece's number 1 trance producer LORD OF BASS....but does cubase make good trance or is logic better for this type of trance.

Posted by Beyer on Apr-16-2008 16:47:

lol this thread pretty much sums up all the n00b questions I've had over msn the past years!

Untrue. It helps me greatly in the pursuit of being entertained.

Enough sarcasm... why don't you all put your money where your mouth is and come up with an FAQ page that categorizes and answers some of the most common questions? You could provide an overview of the most common questions, links, resources, answers, etc. Then put it at the top of the form, like a sticky or something, call it an FAQ, and in the title put Please Read... but make it bold and underline it. And be sure to mention that you can search for answers, too. Geez.

But no, you all have to just make fun of the people and be sarcastic and stuff.
