Pick a team, talk about games, results, performances.
Rant, debate, have some healthy discussions

Im doing my Masters dissertation on the IPL, and will be home for the whole second half of it, and am very very interested to see how this pans out. Have very mixed opinions of it at the moment, but I'm hoping I'm proved wrong.

Oh, and GO MUMBAI INDIANS

Runs till May 25th

No idea how long its going to run, they re going to see how this one goes and then decide I think.

Knight Riders chasing just 110 at the moment, but the pitch is probably the worst strip I ve ever seen and they re 90/5 with 5 overs to go.
The lights then went off at Eden Gardens AND according to the D/l method, if there is no more play, the game will be a tie!

Mumbai Indians for me, they begin their campaign in a few minutes at home.

how is the IPL doing? You think they'll extend to a 2nd season?

easily so, however I'm finding it a bit meh. It's just trying too hard imo, with the cheerleaders & all the bullshit, rather than letting the cricket itself do the talking, and some of the fake chemistry is a bit shit, as too some of the indian players in it. With the huge squads too, you can't get into a team easily at all, however with Kevin Pietersen cleared to play next years, English eyes will obviously go wherever he does. Infact most of the england international side will be allowed to play except flintoff who's had so many problems with his foot that we'll block him going cos of the Ashes next summer.

Easily a few more seasons. Player contracts run 3 years I think. Went for the Mumbai game yesterday. What an absolute humdinger. Pity we lost it at the end. You're right Ian, I;'ve been saying it all along, the 20-20 format IS THE ENTERTAINMENT ! Cheerleaders and the various other nonsense that are dominating at the stadiums are a real putoff to us real cricket fans.

Next season should see a lot of action though. A few bustups have occured in teams already, and now everyone is aware of what a team needs to succeed. Good utility players and good team spirit. Should be fun if they don't make it a commercial wankfest.
