Love Poundin' Sensation Kamaya Painters Appreciation Thread

Rightio,

I've seen a fair few Appreciation threads pop up and haven't seen one for Kamaya Painters so decided to make one

Hands down my favourite trance duo of all time consisting of Tiesto & Benno De Goeij (Rank 1).

= Discography =

Endless Wave
Northern Spirit
Far From Over
Soft Light
Outstream
Wasteland
Summerbreeze
Cryptomnesia

What are your favourite tracks? Endless Wave takes the cake for me followed closely by Far From Over.

Posted by PaulSn on Apr-18-2008 05:27:

1) Soft Light (my personal all time favourite)
2) Summerbreeze
3) Endless Wave

Soft Light is a beautiful track.

I've been wanting to kick off a mix with it, and I'll get around to it someday

Also does anyone know if there were ever any chillout remixes of any of their tracks made?

Everytime I hear Wasteland at a party there is just something magical about that song!!

Posted by BTG on Apr-18-2008 06:25:

wasteland baby!

Posted by Ugly Duckling on Apr-18-2008 06:28:

endless wave.

Posted by cherrybarry on Apr-18-2008 06:30:

summerbreeze

Endless Wave doesn't even need a mention because it's so damn good and well known, but Soft Light needs more love. That track is just so damn beautiful

My number one has to be the Albion Remix of Endless Wave though. Wow!

Agreed. I always get excited when I hear about a new remix of a Kamaya Painters track but most of the time they're a let down, I remember hearing a few hardstyle ones

An honorable mention is Fernie's remix of Endless Wave, nothing will ever beat the original but it's a great effort for the beautiful track it is

Cryptomnesia
Wasteland (Chab's Tribute To Bedrock Mix)
Far From Over (Wavestate Mix)

I love all Kamaya Painters except Cryptomnesia

1. Kamaya Painters - Soft Light
2. Kamaya Painters - Northern Spirit
3. Kamaya Painters - Outstream

and ofcourse

Kamaya Painters - Wasterland (Chabs Tribute To Bedrock Mix)

Appreciated...........

Endless wave Albion mix is all time favorite, but the original is great if you need a chilled out feel.
Soft light is brilliant
But Far from over takes the prize for original productions, must be one of the best melodies ever, right up there with Carte blanche etc etc
Wasteland original is great, and dark, but I prefer Chabs mix.

Weird; I like all of them except Outstream. Cryptomnesia sounds awesome to me.

Remix wise it's all about Far From Over (Oliver Lieb Remix) and Wasteland (Chabs Tribute To Bedrock Mix)

Posted by Real on Apr-18-2008 11:54:

I love all of them, but my favourites are Endless Wave, Far From Over, Soft Light en Summerbreeze. Amazing productions!

Posted by Scoops on Apr-18-2008 13:06:

1. SummerBreeze
2. Wasteland
3. Endless Wave

1. Wasterland (Chabs Tribute To Bedrock rmx)
2. Endless Wave (Andy Bagguley 2006 rmx)
3. Far From Over (Oliver Lieb rmx)

One thing I noticed about Chab's rmx of Wasteland is that it sounds like shit when a DJ speeds up the tempo like Marco V did.

Sasha & Diggers always killed the Chab rmx at TWILO

benno de goeij was a really good producer during that era in trance. His sound is familiar but works so well, and his works under Benicio are overlooked more often. Appreciate all the work in KP alias too

i prefer the original of far from over, but otherwise that's my top 3 as well

Posted by xtr3m on Apr-18-2008 19:22:

Wasteland

Posted by Cobalt on Apr-18-2008 19:24:

1. Endless Wave
2. Cryptomnesia
3. Summerbreeze, probably

Far From Over used to be a favorite, but I've liked it less and less over the years, even the Lieb mix.

The rest were always too fluff for me.

endless wave isn't fluffy?

The Ferry remix of Endless wave is fantastic.
Far from over is up there as one of my favourite tracks.
All the productions were so strong, trance at its best.
