Visiting Australia

I was there way back in 2001. Got my very first tatoo from there. I miss that place. I have blurry memories of The Great Ocean Road on a cold rainy day. The Victoria State Rose Garden on a foggy sunny morning. The islands on a glowing evening, I guess it's called 12 islands or 3 sisters or something, correct me if I'm wrong. The Antartic or Artic Ocean. I'm bad with poles. LOL. The Blue Mountains. The parlament house. It was winter and I was raining. The city is awesome. The Sydney Bridge and Opera House. Thought, I'd share. I'd love to travel again sometime later. I've been to Canberra, Mebourne, Sydney and I still have to check out Adelaide and Brisbane.
My sister lives there and my brother-in-law teaches in RMIT. I would love to check out the house scene there sometime in the future.
Can anyone update me please? Thanks.

Update you on what?
Canberra is no longer good for fireworks.
Adelaide is still boring.
Sydney is still gay.
Melbourne still gets called Mel-born by yanks.
And Steve Irwin is dead.
Oh and Perth thinks it's uppity now.
Yes, goto Brisbane. ?
I dont know...
If you like the Blue Mountains you might like Tasmania? BYO Sister/Cousin.

Adelaide IS crap, but there are some great places in SA, such as the Barossa, Clare Valley and McLaren Vale!!

oh thats right, they all are among Australia's premier wine regions

I would recommend going to at least one of those regions, to everyone!

I'm heading off to Margeret River in June for a holiday, anyone been there before?

during the day? yes.

however, the adelaide nightlife is a lot more friendly to people from interstate. sydney, melbourne and goldcoast, i would never even try to go clubbing unless i have some well-connected locals with me. otherwise you end up in shit holes like shooters, melbas, famous, or some almost-gay bar on oxford street, etc...

Fleurieu Penisula (Ludbrook, 1980), is where Precambrian and Early Cambrian rock sequences in eastern Australia experienced Cambrian deformation and metamorphism. The orogeny extends through South Australia (South Australian Adelaide fold belt), Victoria (Glenelg fold belt), New South Wales (Wonaminta block) and even into Tasmania (Precambrian and Cambrian sequences) (Foden et al. 2006). The orogeny and belts associated are a result of the consequence of stress transfer to the outer trailing edge of the newly forming continent at that time, Gondwana. The Delamerian, by definition, is therefore a compressional orogenic zone with westward-verging folds and thrust faults (Foden et al. 2006).

lol. 1st year geology

THANKS EVERYONE! I feel like I've so much to travel already. Definetly PM ya'll before I visit. I have a bunch of friends there and I just made some more! I've to plan out with all these location for a roadtrip! What is the nightlife like? What about the big clubs and afterhours? What about job opportunities?

gumble, you just read my mind! Once, I'm done school I'll probably get a working visa and work and travel across the aussie lands.

Australia night out

Been to Australia the last 3 years: Sydney, Canberra, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth.

Completly agree about the nightlife in Perth as so boring because of the liquor`s law.

Adelaide is a little bit better.

I had good times in Melbourne especially for Brown`s alley I think it is called where they would host international DJ`s and I heard Cattaneo from Argentina. Sunday nights are very quiet in Melbourne which is a shame because there would be a great potential for the best night for music since the saturday nights drinkers are resting home.

In general, I find there is not a great diverscity of music because australians know how to party and have fun by drinking while music is second.

Any great places to go out for progressive, electro music ?
Sydney or Melbourne ?
Thanks

Have a good trip in Australia
