Too true

Everything gets widespread on AG. Makes it easier to get stuff.

Audiogalaxy is the way to go

Posted by Drifter on May-14-2002 03:43:

audiogalaxy all the way...there is no better alternative imho

Posted by gOOD-tRiP on May-14-2002 06:44:

if you cant find it on audiogalaxy it doesnt exist... ok im going a little bit too overboard... i use kazaa too

Posted by Nastarte on May-14-2002 08:06:

i don't use any of those music finding programs. fxp,ftp and newsgroups work good for me..

Posted by Tukan on May-14-2002 08:18:

AG and Winmx for the really commercial banned stuff.

Posted by dj dimwit on May-14-2002 09:26:

AudioGalaxy is the best. I used to use WinMx too, but that sucked. Couldn't find anything. Kazaa is crap too (for trance songs that is).

Really....AG is all you need!

Posted by zarch on May-14-2002 15:14:

For the "older" songs i use AG. But for the new vinyls, albums etc i use FTP. But AG is great for downloading trance.

Posted by Verona^My on May-14-2002 17:48:

Audiogalaxy for everything & anything, cept they do have some stuff blocked.

Posted by thomassster on May-14-2002 18:30:

I think 12 people here, and the rest of of the members in this forum answered your question. What I just found out today is that Audiogalaxy keeps a really large log file in side AG's folder when you set the log settings. Check your audiogalaxy folder and see if you see a 100MB text file...I sure did and then I turned off logging.

Posted by vito on May-14-2002 23:06:

i use AG most of the time
sometimes i use http sites
rarely an ftp

i tried kazaa today and i think its shit, downloads rarely start and i tried to download chicane - autumn tactics cus its blocked on AG but it was mangled between chicane and some other tune

ill give winmx another try, need something for blocked tunes

Posted by jinxed84 on May-14-2002 23:15:

I use AG for downloading stuff i want....just started using streamripper on winamp to rip evertyhing that plays over Digitally Imported.....it rips and creates the correct id3 tags and puts it in its own folder...very convenient...the only bad thing is you dont get to pick what you want and its only 128kbs....but its easy as hell for the occasioal decent trance i havent heard before

Yeah i use AG, but also gozilla for normal d/d. Means i can resume on my 56k

Posted by obs on May-15-2002 09:11:

winmx 3 finally got released, for those who care.

it still doesn't screw up your computer/windows-registry and still no banners or spyware, unlike some other share-soft out there.

as far as what software sucks and what doesn't, might be helpful to say if the actual software itself sucks or if the download selection sucks. everyone wants a good selection to download, obviously, but some of us don't want to install software that requires a reformat and reinstallation of windows after a week of using that software.

Posted by Arbiter on May-15-2002 09:43:

Audiogalaxy + FTP = the way to go

At least in my experience..

Also, I highly recommend avoiding Kazaa at all costs. I haven't tried winmx.. so I can't comment on it, though.

Only problem with AG is that it install that fricken GAIN/GATOR shit on ur PC...

If you don't know, it spies on you while you're surfing, then sends this data back to it's central servers. GAIN then sell your information to it's clients, who pay for those annoying ads to popup at the bottom of your screen.

I STRONGLY recommend that you visit here and download Ad-Aware .. it's a small shareware program that will remove ALL the spyware from your computer, including GAIN. You'll be surprised how much of that junk will be on there, I guarantee it
