What is your fav Border Community release, and WHY?
tough decision right? I think I would go with Break in the Clouds, or the Ricardo Tobar album, both are insane.
I think for me personally it's Dextro - Do You Need Help because i love The MFA's Help Help Remix so much. ![]()
Nathan Fake - "The Sky Was Pink" (James Holden Mix)
The MFA - "The Difference It Makes"

Without a doubt my favorite release from BC, and in the running for my favorite tune of all time, is the MFA - "The Difference it Makes" (Original Mix). I've never tired of it, I love the use of the vocal sample, the bassline is immense - I just love everything about it (save for the fact that even years later I struggle to mix it well). The only remix I like of it, however, is not on BC, but on Kompakt Pop (Superpitcher Mix).
A close second would be that MFA remix of Dextro - which is actually going to be part of a promotional set I recently completed for Frisky.

i'm not really a fan of most border community releases but my favorite of the all is
fairmont - gazebo
absolutely brilliant IMO. i know many people really dislike it though for some reason.
Border Community had several great tracks, but answering this question is easy: Petter - Six Songs EP.
The Difference It Makes is amazing.
soopertrack
The Sky Was Pink (Holden Mix) <--- such an epic tune, always gives me goosebumps.
Silent Night!! Kidding...
Can't really decide between Six Songs EP and Real. The former has 6 great versatile tracks and latter has one, but the bomb (of course, Fake's remix) - one of my fav techier prog tracks
Luke Abbott's new EP is also cool, but maybe too chilled out
i'd like to be different, but the difference it makes is just such a beautiful peice of music that i can't say that anything else released on border community could top it.
i will say tho that i love the label and the quality that typically gets turned out by it is top notch.
thus i was quite gutted to learn the BC boys wouldn't be in Miami this year
the MFA tunes are sweet
but mine is Petter - Some Polyphony / Untight
both are essential tunes in my 'bag' that I will never get tired of. Good melodies, fierce basslines, they just sound cool and superbly produced
Nathan Fake - Outhouse. This song still gives me the chills. The difference it Makes comes in a close second.
One of my favorite labels. Lot's of stuff that's border line chillout and electronica. Love how all the artists have a similar "sound" they're all trying to push, but still have their own unique style.
The MFA - The Difference It Makes
James Holden - A Break In The Clouds
Nathan Fake - The Sky Was Pink (Holden Remix)
Nathan Fake - Outhouse
Fairmont - I Need Medicine
Ricardo Tobar - Tickets
Fuck....amazing label.
I'm another one for The Difference It Makes.
Nathan Fake's Drowning in a Sea of Love was excellent as well.
Some very good releases on this label, N. Fake - Outhouse and The Sky was Pink are definately my favourites.
Original Mix of The Difference It Makes always makes me happy. I dont mind a little Soopertrack every now and then either.
But the sky was never pink for me.
the sky was pink
the icelandic version is just perfect for those big synthy moments within quite loopy, non synthy techno, and tech-house sets, and the holden mix provides the perfect bridge back into that, or into pretty much anything else.....
two records, for me at least, that have been relevant and in my mind everytime I've play since they were released.....
