first knights of the jaguar

mark knight & funkagenda have taken it upon themselves to take all the fun out of this track.

That is about as close as the internet can come to actually hurting my feelings.

With the recent revisiting of "classic" sounds and styles, I bet that will be happening shortly.

So terrible.

And the worst part is that it's called

Mark Knight & Funkagenda - Man With The Red Face

I don't think it's that horrible, but nothing spectacular either. At least judging that sample on Beatport.

I will kill somebody.

I thought this was going to be about the remix I heard last night at our party, but after listening to the beatport sample, it doesn't come close to what I heard last night. This Mark Knight & Funkagenda remix is far from being anything remotely special ... and actually doesn't even come close to touching the original whatsoever. Where the hell is Laurent's name? I don't see him listed as the original artist ... W.T.F. Mate?!

Oh, last night it was Chus & Ceballas that dropped a remix of MWTRF I have never heard before, and it was fucking smoking good. Forgot to attempt a trainspot or ask them. But I do know it wasn't the shit I just heard.

Posted by cherrybarry on Apr-18-2008 23:23:

lol wasn't this that "omgwtf sax track" that everyone was raving about at wmc?

Posted by Pseudo Society on Apr-18-2008 23:26:

Yeah, I actually remembered reading about that a bit back, and just went and checked and it was the one everybody was flipping shit about. Beatportal said people went ape shit when the sax started playing .... I can only imagine what they did once the rest of it started playing. -_-

Legendary remix

and if it was TMWTRF being played at WMC and people didnt recognise it, then there a bunch of mindless idiots

i bet half the people raving about this "take" on TMWTRF have never even heard of Laurent Garnier

actually Laurent is playing it himself... and loving it
On GU someone made a thread about this remix and it became an instant classic (with Funkagenda posting his thoughts)
You can read the thread @ http://www.globalunderground.co.uk/...pic.php?t=83441

i dont think its that bad to be honest, its a nice modern day version of a classic, lets face it, it could be a hell of a lot worse. I just dont know why they didnt use Laurent Garnier - The Man With the Red Face (Mark Knight and Funkagenda Remix) as the title for it

Read the thread on GU... its all there and a fun read also
But to boil it down COR style its because its a cover that they named it this way

Posted by Palladium on Apr-19-2008 19:27:

didn't he also made this other sax track called saxo which was horrible?

Posted by TranceArmstrong on Apr-19-2008 19:36:

i don't see the big deal, its an ok track

not like its the deadmau5 remix of finished symphony or anything

Posted by georgea80 on Apr-19-2008 19:43:

You're talking about laurent garnier - man with the red face i assume? I never got the big deal about this track, my mates from bmouth loved it but never really "got it"..
