So I'm In charge of Audio for an outdoor event...

Hi guys,

As the head DJ, I may soon be responsible for organising the PA system in an event a few months away that will be taking place outdoors. It should be well promoted by my mate (he is studying event management), and i may expect 200-300 people, and most likely more.

Although I'm proficient at setting up audio indoors (I've surprised people before with the sound I can get out of some pretty sub par systems), setting up outdoors is goign to be the next big hurdle for me, as I've never really had to do it before. My biggest concern in particular is that of Bass, and what sort of specs I should be looking for to provide enough quality bass for a crowd of that size. What else should I keep in mind when setting up PA for an outdoor event of such size, and how can I ensure the greatest quality and loudnes in the audio? How much minimum power, in watts RMS should I be looking at in bass, treble, mids, whilst still ensuring enough that I have enough "headroom". What should I be aware of regarding acoustics of an open place, as opposed to a closed hall (other than the obvious need for more bass)
