CJ Bolland - The Prophet.

Love the original track but am always disappointed with the break. Its so weak.

Anyway, anyone know of a version that improves on that or just a newer version in general?

Dunno if it's any better or worse, but...

DJ Snowman - ...And Then They Start To Dance (Dumonde Remix)

Thanks.

I'll check it out.

Decent, but definately not better than the original.

Structured completely different.

Original structure, only updated.

i quite like this, providing i speed it up by about 8 BPM

it's a different song, but equally ball-breakingly good, Phrenetic System - Wayfarer

there was a paul oakenfold version a few years ago too. i would say worse though haha

Didnt Oakey just play the original pitched down to a painful degree?

Posted by ballmouse on Apr-20-2008 12:30:

To be honest, it's one of Bolland's worst tracks and I can't stand it.

EDIT

For the record, I liked a lot of the stuff on Bunkka... definitely not a strong release but I really liked "Harder they Come" and "Time Of Your Life."

Never really understood the hype around this one, sorry.

you need to hear it in a club then

not really relevant, but:

Musix - Do You See The Light

Posted by bigjimslade002 on Apr-20-2008 18:17:

Steve Hills remix of it is pretty good.its real hard and banging.

also look for this little mashup:

Marco V and CJ Bolland-Godd vs Indicator vs Loops and Things

something interesting to listen to at the least.i like it quite a bit.

Posted by montana on Apr-21-2008 13:30:

it's a fun track. oakey & tijs and most trancejocks who played it pitched it down from it's original 148?bpm. and then oakey went and did his remake.

the dumonde remix of snowman is a big ripoff but fun aswell

Been there done that. I admit that it is more 'proper' or however you want to describe it in a clubbing environment, but it just doesn't strike me as being the epic monster that it's admirers percieve it as.

this track is so good that i have a hard time believing someone who likes this kind of music finds something wrong with it. but i guess tastes really do differ then.

and even though it's 148 bpm it doesn't sound the slightest bit too fast. and i usually dislike anything above 140 bpm.

i'd say it's a pretty unique track too. i haven't found anything really similar ever. most stuff this hard is imo way too cheesy or just noise. i'm very happy though if someone can prove me wrong (and thus introduce me to more great music i'm currently unaware of).

It was a huge Toronto anthem back in the day... Paladin would always drop it and the kids here loved it. I went out of my way to buy it in vinyl when I first got into DJing but yeah... hearing it outside of its time and context really neuters it.

The original samples shouldn't be tough to dig up:

Tiesto mix (unless it has been incorrectly named) is a top remix.

The lyrics from The Last Temptation of Christ are very well suited.
