Traffic in SF...

Hey there, all you in the bay area, I got a question. What is traffic gonna be like from Oakland airport across the bridge and into San Fran tonight aty like 6:30pm? Horrible? Or does the traffic mostly go away from San Fran?

*edit* Actually looks like I'll be in San Carlos, so that's the other bridge, right?

I've been up there a bunch of times, but I've never had to drive in rush hour. Here in LA, I'd rather kill myself than get on just about any freeway at 6ish.

Also, where should I go for some cheapish beers and decent music on a wed night? I like local dank dive bars with a good jukebox. I love house, but wouldn't mind checking out an industrial club up there or even some metal. I'll be staying at the Fairfield at 555 Skyway rd. I haven't googled it yet, so I not sure exactly where that is, or what is around it. Gimme a heads up! Thanks!

pretty sure its gonna be hell!!!! took me 4 hours to drive from SF to Sacramento starting out at 330pm....

Yea but that way is more congested. Coming in won't be as bad but it is possible there will be some traffic. Are you driving from Oak to San Carlos? That is a long way to go...are you sure you want to go the Bay Bridge?

I work in Redwood City, one exit south of San Carlos. Weekday evening commute back home to SF is around 50 min max.

However, my job start time just got pushed back a couple hours to 11am instead of 8am, so I flying up there first thing in the monring instead of tonight. I'll be driving from Oak do San Carlos at like 9-10am. How's traffic then?

Unfortunately, this also means I won't have time to go out tonight, but at least I can sleep with my wife and cats in my own bed.
