Xetro - Evolution (Original Mix) (Sample)

its the intro till 1:25 then fade out, and then the main part... its quite a big sample of the track as i wanted you to hear the intro...

i want to thank everyone for giving me new ideas to improve this track, thank you!

nice bassline, sounds good.
some great atmospheric synths and FX, its quite detailed which i like.
great sample and guitars then during the break.
3:00 is awesome. The low shot type percs seem to make the lower midrange a little muddy.
The ending is good, very psy-ish with the gating and stuff.

Interesting track, I think this got a lot of potential.

by potential you mean room for improvement? and thats me playing and talking, no samples there...

This means there is always space for improvement
I really like it. Though I think it sounds somehow a bit messy in the main part at 3:10. Maybe a bit less would be more in that part. Maybe some EQ could do the trick too.

Yeah i havent quite made the final mix and mastering... its a rough mastered version...

Siiiick this is very cool ... I love how mechanical it sounds with those phased percs in the intro, very dark and driving. Just listened to it alongside your beta version and its a big improvement, there's some more interesting transitions and I see you've brought the high end up sounding much better ... that nice hat stands out more, it all has much more crispness to it.

I do see what cybernetika means at 3:10, I think the problem might be the stuttered underlying synth - did you bring the treble up on that? If so maybe take it back down slightly - it's like there's all these rapidfire stabs all with a little too much treble on them and its roughing everything up slightly. I think thats the problem anyway - my ears might not be too great at isolating elements from psytrance haha.

Only other thing is there's an off note in the main lead right on 3:28 .. either adjust it up or down or just leave it out, it doesn't sounds right. Good work though man

Starts of nice and full, bassline sounding a tad empty on the semi-low end, boosting it around 200-220hz would help it sounding warmer a lot.

I love the space the synth(distorted percs?) gets around the 10-11second mark, it's a lot like the VOOOOWWMMM-synth of the original edit of Jesselyn - Celestine.
If you got the time, be sure to take a listen as it contains primarily the same elements as this track. As well as the guiding pads that create a sort of dark harmony.

The bass rolls along pretty nice in the break, although I hear you using a clap sounding the start of the pads harmony, thats sounds very plastic, and it could do well with very little decay on the reverb.
the voice is pretty cool, I like the main idea of this, but a voice like that makes tracks feel a little cheezy, in combination with the pads, it sounds very 1990.
On the other hand you''ve got that guitarry synth playing, which does help making it sound original.
(I know these aren't the right terms but my english isn't quite perfect) I like the melody you got going on, the chord progression sounds very logical, but it's hard to remember, therefore it's a step away from 'breaking through'.

After the climax, it seems the kick loses it's punch quite a bit, could be my headphones i'm listening on.
But ofcourse all my awesome tracks sound pretty awesome on them. Nice work of fx's, nice drive throughout the entire tune. and a very mixable outro.

Keep up the good work!

I've moved away from this kind of EDM over the last year but this track is pretty bad ass! The bass-line sounds great

finished the thing, please give a listen

Posted by kenrutl on Apr-30-2008 02:37:

havnt heard this yet, listening first time now:

-depth width n ... well level and everything about the opening pads are kickass- perfect first thirty seconds, like it a lot
-vocoded voice dissapears a bit quickly around .50, have you considered fadding out an echo ?
-love the transition at 2.10
- is it me or does the bassline after 2.50 have a bit of an unappealing click before you lowered the gate on it, maybe a bit less res and eq a little off the hi end freq

very cool track, you can tell you put a lot of thought into this and its turning out very well- will defitnily look for final and more of yours in the future !

i dont wanna put an echo on the vocal, cos its re entering in its original form a second later, and bout the 2:50 clicks are you tallking bout the high freq? cos i kinda like them... giving a high freq. from a bass is my favorite

cheers!

Listening:

The intro is cool, dark and twisted. Like the vocals.

Really good atmosphere u get here, sounds abit like those Infected Mushroom tracks at times.

The breakdown is cool. vocals works very well.. guitar also.

Overall the sound of the track is cruncy and dark, my only complain is that each sound could maybe use a little more clearity in the mix.

i think it should be a little bit mish-mash, i quite like it, but if its too much then i need to improve it..

i really like what you have done here! the chords, vocals, guitar, all fantastic

hands down one of the best TA productions i have heard in a while now - though I do agree with some of the other feedback in that a few small refinements would help out

that being said, I would really like to get my hands on this full track and play it in my sets - please let me know. keep it up!
