Smiley DJ A couple quick questions

I have been mixing trance for a little over a year. I taught myself, as many of you have. I was wondering how you normally make a transistion. I usually line up the beats (duh) and mess with the EQ until it isn't clashing, then mix for 32 beats or so. What other techniques do you use? Sometimes I mix through breakdowns, so the set isn't all bass. Just looking for suggestions, tips, and tricks. Thanks!

yea, just fiddle with eq and know your records.
i mix different every time (experiment). i also just got my decks a couple weeks ago, so im not exactly an expert

i see this kind of questions more and more...
for me it doesn't work this way,i don't have a standard way of mixing 2 records.
every transition is a creative one and done without thinking about it.

It's more about the natural feeling imo...

Having said that, I've never tried mixing between breakdowns before. How can you mix something that doesn't have any sort of a beat?

Smiley DJ Breakdowns

Even during the breakdown there is a beat. You just have to tap your foot. Usually to mix in a breakdown, both tracks are airy and somewhat ambient sounding. Just blend them together and you get one big break that transistions itself into the next song.

Thanks for the help guys. I know mixing is a personal and creative thing, but I just wanted to see what kind of tricks you are all personally creating.
