Yes and no, I mean yeah, rekids been around for a bit putting out quality, but lately theres been a string of great Radio Slave releases, along with some great cuts by Luke Solomon and Toby Tobias among others. 2008 is gonna be a good year for the label I think.

just yes clovis, 2008 is going to be a great year for them for sure (if radioslave decides to maybe start changing it up a bit its getting stale.), but anyone who was not aware of this label and likes this kind of music clearly was living under a rock.

So I'm the only one here who thinks that Rekids is painfully mediocre?

"Tankatan" was nice, but beyond that nothing stretching all the way back to their first release has really struck me as anything better than average.

Though I will say, RA picking them label of the month is probably one of the most predictable situations I could imagine. Let me guess, next month it will be BPitch Control, and after that Poker Flat, Connoisseur, and then m_nus again.

IMO

K-Maze
Toby Tobias - Nervoso EP
Luke Solomon - The Darkest Secret
Bell Clap Dance + Sebo K Remix
Paul Harris - Miscalate (Partial Arts)
Radio Slave - Weeze

..better than average...i.e. I play em

Sebo K mix of BCD got old to me really quick. Not bad, but I just got tired of it.

I never heard more than a few choice moments while out, and it did the trick great, so it has not yet lost its appeal.

Specifically, droog buddies played it opening for Sander K at this spot in Miami:

I hadn't heard it in a while but it was warm and fit the atmosphere perfectly.

Such is life in the world of EDM. Very little staying power for much of anything by virtue of nothing more than the amount of it that's out there.

I like Adam's take on the nature of more disposable dance music.

I think its in that "Enlighten Me" thread.

I think they'll soon work a dubstep label into there as well. Gotta keep up with the one of the trendiest underground movements after all.
