anybody using the evo 5 yet

i have ruled out the korg, i met with a guy who had a zero 4 and though it has nice features it feels way to cheap. so its down to the evo5 or xone 92 with midi controller

Posted by AnomalyConcept on Apr-26-2008 04:21:

What about the Evo4? It's more of a 'traditional' mixer layout, well, at least form-factor (12"), and has 4 channels and two effects channels. I think it also has 4 dedicated MIDI rotaries, as well as being able to switch the channels to MIDI control.

I think it will be released in June if you can wait until then.

Posted by MACBOOK69 on Apr-26-2008 04:28:

yes but from the looks of it on djdeals it is going to be pretty much the same price as the 5 and it doesn't have a firewire port? go xone 92 then for sure

Posted by Soundwerks on Apr-26-2008 04:28:

there are a few EVO5 owners here, if ya wanna do a search. I have one too...any specific questions? What are you looking to do with it exactly?

Posted by MACBOOK69 on Apr-26-2008 05:17:

mostly for sound quality and to control traktor scratch. i have a xone 92 and am wondering if it is the same build quality and sound qual. also are the controls on that screen pretty easy to use when playing or do you find yourself scrolling through menus? what do you think overall. i did a search and it didn't give me very much

Posted by MACBOOK69 on Apr-26-2008 05:22:

i don't think i have ever seen an ecler mixer in a club or anywhere so i really need your advise
on it. i checked out a korg and its no xone but the ecler could be diff

Well, I've been using mine for about 6 months now. I use Traktor Scratch with it, and so far, I havent come across a single flaw. Since I am the distributor for ECLER in North America, I always have to bring my EVO to trade shows, demonstrations etc. and I always use TS with it. For instance, at the NAMM show, I had the EVO running ALL DAY, 10am-6pm, non stop for 4 days straight, and not a single glitch or audio dropout! The response time is very accurate, if youre going to scratch. Also, you can use all 4 decks in Traktor and timecode. Pretty neat!

If youre just using traktor, then all the controls around the screen are enough to scroll thru your tracks, load em up and use Traktor effects. You can set it up any way you want, and keep your "favorite" layouts around the screen (you can keep 6 favorite layouts around the screen, then press a button to load up to 64 layouts!), so its pretty easy to get around the screen.

As for sound quality, I will say its GREAT, but then again, I'm supposed to say that Seriously, check around these forums, or do a search online, and you'll see that others agree!

that 'could be' might make you regret the trade later

i think i might go for it? i seen some videos on you tube and read some reviews? looks great can't help but love the built in sound card and effects processing. everyone that has any of the ecler miixers lovin them or what?

Posted by miamitranceman on Apr-27-2008 04:01:

I've heard only good things about em. I almost bought a Nuo 4 back in the day and they've only gotten better. The EVO 5 is top of the line and competes with anything else as far as I've read.

Posted by MACBOOK69 on Apr-27-2008 05:24:

lookin good like i said i think im goin for it. ecler is on the move forward

nonesense, I love my evo 5. sound quality trumps an a&h in my opinion. midi control rocks, just do a search cuz I did a brief review.

Posted by MACBOOK69 on Apr-28-2008 02:07:

wasn't able to find your review. so how is the feel on the knobs below the screen that reviews are sayin kinda wobbly? also how is navigating the menus? i think i'm def goin for it

Posted by MACBOOK69 on Apr-28-2008 02:09:

oh and did you post any pics of your rig?

Posted by Max Thomson on Apr-29-2008 14:16:

for some reason TA didn't want to find my post, here is the link to it over at Abletonlivedj.com:

http://abletonlivedj.com/forum/view...cler+evo+review

the knobs feel great, faders feel even better, I love the endless rotaries, and its just really well built overall. I had it over at my mate's place for the weekend, and everyone was just blown away with the sound quality. I did have the vintage warmer pretty tuned mind you, but the signal was still passing through the nuo4 into the mackies. It sounds amazing when hooked up to monitors over balanced XLRs.

Go for it dude, you won't regret it. And did I mention it comes with a 4 year warranty?

Posted by MACBOOK69 on Apr-30-2008 00:16:

i love it already

Posted by stan229 on May-02-2008 16:46:

question
can you asisgn different effects to diff chan?
Can i have a delay on chan1, a flanger on chan2 and a reverb onc han3 while they're all active?

Posted by Max Thomson on May-02-2008 17:46:

each of the 5 channels has a rotary FX send, so yes, each channel gets FX. I should really be working for Ecler

Posted by Soundwerks on May-02-2008 19:16:

you're doing a good job answering questions, so I havent really chimed in yet

Just to be clear for the previous poster (stan229), you CANNOT assign different effects to multiple channels. You can assign multiple channels to the FX processor

On the new EVO4, you can assign two DIFFERENT effects to multiple channels (or even to the SAME channel)..which is pretty cool!
