The Host has decent Indian food, but it is just way to expensive. Really 95% of the Indian places in the city are too expensive.
Spices Cafe (4 Temperance Street), is awesome. Real home made Indian food, and the cook is super friendly. He literally just asks you what you want, or talks to you. I have never really seen a menu in the place.
Best all you can eat sushi I found is Echo Sushi on Yonge street. Been going there for about a year now, and I still enjoy it.

I would recommend Indian Kitchen in Thornhill. Located on southeast corner of Yonge & Clark.
Best Indian in TO
- Gandhi (Queen West)
- Saravana Bhavan (Mississauga)
- Utsav (Yorkville)
- Spices (Temperence)
- Siddhartha (King or Gerrard)
Best Indian
If you're looking for a fine dining kinda ambiance with great food..I'd say The Host too (it is a tad bit expensive..they have an online menu with prices).
and for more of a fast-food like atmosphere, there's this place called Moti Mahal on Gerrard St....cheap and pretty tasty imo.
Timothys Tikka Hut in Cabbagetown (on Parliment & Prospect) is really good for indian food, and priced pretty fairly.
Two main dishes + two orders of rice + 2 garlic nan is just under 30 dollars - which is enough to feed two and have leftovers (depending on how hungry you are)
The madras is really tasty, and ordering it spicy will have your face read and sweaty by the end of the meal in that oh-so-good satisfying way.
thnx for all the recommendations. I'll report back soon.
btw how expensive is the Host for two people? Are we talking like $200+?
I'm thinking around $50 is reasonable.
