Trance producer noob - nice track or not?

Hi there,

Spent the last 8 hours hammering away on energy xt with what i believe is a good track idea. Could some of you guys take a listen and lemmi know if the track has some potential?

Not complete, by no means but just a bunch of ideas put into a track. Would anybody like to help me complete it?

Thanks.

Ben.

SCRAP or A good idea? lol..

Btw I've never been to music school (like most of you) and still learning (as u can hear) ..

The track hasn't been mastered and needs hard limiting, and lots of work I know. Eq'ing everywhere blah blah.

bTW The last time I made a good sounding tune was this one

Listen

But that's just a remix.

Would love to work with somebody over the internet (messenger maybe?) to share ideas and such.

Thanks for any criticism.

difficult to tell in percentage who is scholar-musicians here, but I would guess it's very few...just a guess of course. but seriously...it's absolutely not necessary with musical education to create electronic music, just technical experience, and of course an ear for sounds and atmosphere.

The BPMs need to be upped in order for this tune to be considered trance.

Its at 140 bpm at the moment, what do u recommend?

this was a pretty pimp track honestly, i liked your melodies and instruments a lot- the movement was great for the most part, breakdowns were all well done and flowed really well, im guessing this sounds a lot different through speakers exspecially with the gated saw synth that comes out a lot towards the end panning as it does, but ive only got phones atm and it sounds good through them.

The only real critique i have is that it never really fills out and just drives you into wanting to move/dance, its just a good head bobbing track, but im not even smart enough to tell you how to achieve that in this particular track lol, i liked the listen as it was anyway...

but im rambling so theres my thoughts- kudos and nice work !

The reason your song sounds slow despite the 140 bpm is because there's not enough drive to it. There is too much empty spaces.
For the starter, try to build up the percussion more.. and it definitely needs a stronger kick.
