Star Wars Retrospective Episode 4
sweet...thats the one many were waiting for!
never tried battlefront, it looked like fun tho|
Some of the best games ever made in this one.
I still have my original editions of X-wing and Tie Fighter. The floppy version of X-wing didn't have any textures. Ships were colored in uniform shades of grey at various gamma settings and the engines of ships were alternating shades of red or blue.
They really, really, really need to make another game in this series using modern technology.

| Originally posted by Project-K Battlefront was fun to play casually and with friends, but it got old really quick and really wasn't all that great. Wouldn't even make my top 20 of star wars games. |
battlefront II is what i meant, but i did figure there had to be some shortcomings...might try to get a cheap copy for the orig xbox or something.
i was just shocked to learn they had made all those variants up to 2000ish...
i really dont get why they havent attempted a newer version/story. methinks rogue squadron et al was the focus. now that factor 5 screwed up lair hopefully there can be a renewed xwing focus|
I own all the games featured in this video. Star Wars flight sims are my favourite Star Wars games ever and im quite saddened that its been 10 years since the last one came out. Oh the first time i ventured online in XWvsTF, how my poor old P166 and a ISDN line sweted under the strain of the game which came before its time (also the yells of my father after he had seen the phone bill...no broadband at that point). And the flight trough the death star in XW Alliance. Simply Amazing. Trully magnificent games.
Also anybody bother to check out the other retrospective videos on that site (D&D, Metroid, Zelda, mario kart & Final Fantasy)? Since im sick i have all the time in the world so i watched them all yesterday. Now i want to play trough all the FFs, Zenldas and Metroids again but i dont have THAT much time left before i get bettr.

| Originally posted by Project-K lol, kotor2 was even less finished I haven't played battlefront long enough to see any significant patches. I played the PC version and it wasn't all that bad stability-wise. |
I seem to be the only person on this planet tat as no complaints of bus from the KOTOR games. Sure tere was an occasional crash here or there, but come on, you're playing it on a windows box, tat is to be expected. In fact when my computer doesn't crash in a wile, ten is when i start ettin worried.

I agree tat the game was rushed, which is sad as it could be so much better tan it was (i still prefer it to 1 though). But other tan tat i havent really noticed any significant bus tat other people seemed to be reporting. For some the game crashed every minute or so, the graphics were choppy, errors in ame scripts and dialogues. I got none of tat.

| Fans who later cracked open some files in the installation found a completely different ending complete with different subplots, additional missions and tons of dialogue that didn't have time to be properly implemented into the game. |
w00t! getting it now! tie fighter is pretty much my favourite game ever

| Originally posted by Project-K My computer never crashes unless it's running buggy software (like KOTOR2). Kotor2 didn't even have a proper ending - with cutscenes contradicting eachother (towards the end), inconsistant plotlines, subplots that were just left in the open. Kotor2 is a game that unfortunately was rushed off to be released when it wasn't ready. There hasn't even been a proper testing period meaning the game is full of performance problems and prone to constant crashing, buggy inconsistant dialogue and gameplay problems. i used to like x-wing alliance top game

On one hand its nice to se that they at least are taking the time debug the game thoroughly, something that the original developers didnt do, but on the toher hand i have been waiting for far too long to see the complete game ending and my patiente is almost at its end |
pretty good episode! i thought it would have been better though if they showed footage from the original versions instead of the collectors series with the updated engine
Where is the next episode :S it seems like its not online.... at the end of this one he says "in 2 weeks" but its longer ago...
there has been a delay cause of the metal gear solid retrospective and getting material so the next star wars retrospective should be up on june 21st, according to the game trailers forums
wow this brought back some memories. I remember those games clearly...I don't think I ever beat the original X wing and Tie Fighter games and one of them was more annoying to play than the other (I think Tie Fighter).
What about Rebel Assault? Those games were funny.
