You should try finding your own tracks mate.

What is to someones liking, might not be to your own in terms of "flow" etc

Thanks though mate, you can just say

I don't know any good music people will enjoy hearing.

C'mon C'mon C'mon just one.. one little track that is worth listening too...

Maybe you can suggest some places that there is good music.. cause I'm having difficulty finding them.

lol, whats the point of DJ'ing if u want us to pick the tracks for u. Just download my sets, or someone else's and play that.

Posted by pactdonkey on Apr-28-2008 21:20:

Its a shame 1 hour and 45 mins has been given to a dj who only plays the part of 'half' a dj.
I bet theres loads of dj's on here (including me) that would kill to have 1 hour 45 mins to play there tunes that they have searched for, probaly thru loads of crap as well.

I simply don't have time to listen to who sets... obviously you must have a resent favorite..
Also I have content restrictions.. so depending on the origin of the track etc.. Have to have a mix of 35% cancon 25% New Release and the other 40% is open for older tracks that means about 4 tracks in 10 have to be canadian 3 NEW (can be grouped with Canadian) and 4 can be anything..

I simply can't play your set flat.

Not that I would anyway cause it is live radio..

I actually prefer recommendations because I know people like the music not just me.

I have less than 24 hours to put together a 1hr45m radioshow

Posted by adx on Apr-29-2008 05:15:

... this is what you need.

www.beatport.com
www.audiojelly.com
www.djdownloads.com

Im surprised you have not seen any of these sites mentioned anywhere. Freaky looking chick in every thread ....

Posted by nefardec on Apr-29-2008 05:47:

tell them you can't do it because you don't know good music that people would like

Posted by tubby on Apr-29-2008 07:30:

go to beatport, pick your genre, buy the top 10.
bit random and probably won't go together very well, but neither will relying on other folks to pick them for you

Mate, try having a full time job and spending quality time with a kid. I'm still able to shop for tracks / listen to certain shows etc.

In the time you have spent whining and moaning about the trials and tribulations of your life, you could have found at least one track.

So whos to say that others recommendations are "best" for your listeners?
We dont even know who your listeners are.........

If you cant pick out 10 tunes off your own back that you think people might like, give up the ghost pal - you are wasting your time.

So now you want free music??

If you let us know when and where, some of us will even come along and mix the tracks for you too!

That will free up more of your time to droan on about your mundane day to day existence.

The number of times this guy's contradicted himself is incredible

Along with the "I don't know any good music people will enjoy hearing." and "When did I ever say I don't know good music?" quote, another favourite of mine is

then rejecting the post listing a load of download sites.

Finding the music is one of my favourite parts of DJing, can't believe you wouldn't want to do it yourself.

Do you have a comedy section on your radio show??

I really think that is your true vocation as opposed to dj'ing.

Like people have already said and I shall say one final time......

You aint a dj if you rely on other people to select tracks for you, furthermore not apply a bit of logic to where you might find a top 10 selection of tracks.

So long.

its not hate, your disrespecting the art of DJ'ing. We spend hours upon hours sifting through tracks to use that we like and hope that someone else will like. You want all the benefit w/o putting any legwork in. No one is going to put "your" radio show together for you.

Posted by SteelWolf on Apr-29-2008 16:13:

So 3 tracks haev to be canadian... Deadmau5?
And 4 have to be new? Deadmau5.
And teh rest can be anything else? Deadmau5.

There you go you don;t even have to mix hardly all his beats are the same, and all his tracks are 128 BPM. And pepole will LOVE IT, but I suspect that mixing this much of teh rodent will make you feel dead inside.

EDIT
I can;t type today... fucking muscle relaxers...

The situation, as I understand it, is that you are a fucking Grade-A bellend.

Posted by lawrenceq on Apr-30-2008 03:51:

dude. duuuude. seriously, dude.

dude. go to beatport and play their top ten tracks. that might be too much researching though... best not do that. instead pick up a mixmag and just let the promo cd play, lasts an hour, should be good. i think the last one was... deadmau5?

Posted by Tony Morello on May-01-2008 00:58:

so, from what i can understand here...

someone offered you a radio show cause you said you dj

you took the show without fully realizing the work it actually entails

trying to put together the show, you see you're in over your head

you come on to TA to get people to do your work for you

the peeps on TA see what's going on and bust you for it
