Tracks everyone MUST know

I've been listening to EDM for a little over a year, but I'm still trying to catch up with all the older, classic tracks. I don't want a song to come on in the club that everyone is going nuts over, and I'm just hearing it for the first time like...ohh... System F, Into the Night, or Southern Sun. LOL

Sooo...help me and other noobs out... what are your MUST know tracks? You can include any genre.

I presume your after 1999 style trance?

The less volatile way for you to get an answer is to use the search button and search for Trance Classics. There should be a thread with "Classics" listed in chronological order.

is one of my all time favs.

Download a bunch of old sets. I was 15 when I first heard Oakies Essential Mix and a year later I was watching the man spin some of the tracks *LIVE* from the Perfecto Presents Another World cd [Flesh, Animal etc..]

It depends on who you see that will drop some of their classics like KvA playing Velvet Morning recently. Much different to their sound now.

Are you talking about that thread which featured tracks from each year seperately (from 1991 to 2004 or smthg?).I was looking for this thread as well, and i thought that it was a sticky but it seems that it isn't. Where is it?

I think a couple of hundreds need to be added (all genres, Eurohouse, Happy Hardcore, etc.), but it's no real help. He won't have enough time to listen them all....... Next to that a topic could be started for tracks which shouldn't be at the list......

Seriously, Delerium is an industrial themed ambient band. (It's the guys from Front Line Assembly, AKA one of the guys from Skinny Puppy, they're ooooooold school industrial.) The only trance track I've heard worth noting as a classic is of course the remixes of Silence.

Well, they were originally the "dark ambient" side-project of Front-Line Assembly, and the first albums were quite dark and maybe had an slight industrial influence, but after "Semantic Spaces" they start making new-age/worldbeat music, that is, catchy sweet arpeggios, relaxing pads with the pigmies singing on top, plus a bit of cliche a-la Enigma gregorian chanting etc. I have to confess that (IMO) they suck in making this type of thing, and if one wants this new-age/worldbeat type of music there are much better names to dig, such as the good old Enigma and/or Mike Oldfield and the newer and amazing Amethystium.
