4 new tracks looking for opinion (samples inside)

Alright, so ive been working on these tracks lately.

So i would like to know what the general opinion on them are.

Subtara - Ganymeda (Original Mix)

Subtara - Enlightmentim (Original Mix)

Subtara - Second Flight (Original Mix)

Subtara - Black Crystal (Original Mix)

Right click download.

Samples are approx 2-3 minutes each sampling the main part of the tracks, I would be very curious to which of the tracks you like the best.

Any comment appreciated.

Great tracks! Its like four different gemstones you have there. If you're approaching a release of any of the tracks, I would go for the "black crystal", which I think has the most potential. Good production.

Sounds really good

Subtara - Enlightmentim (Original Mix)

Wicked build-up--love the atmosphere created by the synths. My fave of the four

Subtara - Second Flight (Original Mix)

Sounds good, but I no longer like this kind of music as much as I used to so I'm not the best judge here

Subtara - Black Crystal (Original Mix)

My comment for Second Flight applies here as well I believe

Damn! You're quite talented it seems! I think the first two tracks could get signed easily (wouldn't be surprised if you get a label to sign all four).

Thanks glad to hear.

Interesting that you think Black Crystal is the best as its the one im least satisfied with.

Cheers.

Yes, enlightmentism also is good, the next best in my opinion. Black Crystal applies most to my taste.

Cool, i make too much tranzy stuff to be objective on the more proggy stuff i make.

first of all thanks for replying in my thread, here are my reviews of all 4 tracks,

Ganymeda 8.2/10-

i like the bass in this track and especially the orchestral pads. the lead however sounds nice but is missing something.. cant exactly say what.. maybe work a bit on the melody on the low notes, and have a arpeggio running in the main part. just an idea.

Enlightmentism 8.5/10 -

nice intro, nicely done. this track would sound way better if you would add some choirs with the pads maybe on the 7th note.. and a maybe a fast farty trance arpeggio in the qlimax, and a low pass filter just before it. try and maybe add a kind of sweepy percussion in the background of the qlimax.. i can see your improvements on the structure of your tracks. you really got a nice sound .

Second Flight 7/10 -

Love the bass your using in your tracks, definitely keep that. nice smooth intro, the pads in this sound familiar.. albino, or v-station? not sure.. a nice track definitely chilly compared to the other 2 tracks ive listened so far. still is missing something.. i think a high pass filter at 16000Hz would work wonders on the percussion in this. still needs a bit of work..

Black Crystal 7/10 -

Hehe something different from the other 3, sounds kind of spooky but not spooky lol, i like the arpeggio sound.. again, like the bass. the track however still needs some more work on the melody. the atmosphere is cool, however dont be afraid of using automation/filter fx clips to your tunes, i know your trying to keep the structure and clearness of the tunes, keep it like that! but dont be to shy with them.

After listening again all 4 got to choose the best one.. really like "Ganymeda" & "Enlightmentism", really hard for me to choose between the 2. really like the trancy feel of "Enlightmentism". but really like the orchestral pads and groovy bass of "Ganymeda".. im going for "Enlightmentism". definitely one of the best.

Your one of the producers on TA ive been downloading tracks of since i registered on the forum, your really going the right direction man, keep going at it!! and dont let the Big potential spoil!!

I`ll look into the lower spectrum of the lead there.

Yeah i`ll try to add a more dynamic sound with more automation.

overall really nice productions, production wise i have to say i dont have anything new to write here as it seems you figured it out alone nice mixing and mastering all over, you may have some little more equing on some tracks, but thats just minor cosmetics...

what i do have to say is musicially and artistically speaking... you dont have to listen or do anything i write at all, just my personal feeling... for that style your going for i would spend more time making the melodies and harmonics more complex and stand out, letting you feel more emotional if that makes any sense to you... also, your main synths are good but somewhat not crunchy enough... try adding a background synth, maybe with additive melodies on it... also, the drive and percussions could use a little breaking and smashing here and there... those are just my thoughts... my favorite is black crystal, but you can make it sound more tough and dark IMO, that would be awesome...

thats my 5 cents... cheers!

Yeah that makes perfectly sense to me, most of what i make is very in ur face. What u are suggesting is more subtle approach to synths and melodies. Yeah i`ll defo keep that in mind. Thanks.

quite the contrary my friend... give a listen to the main theme here, there are two background synths accompanying the main one

im all about "look the earth is falling into itself!"/"OMFG here comes the apocalypse!" sort of stuff

Yeah i what u mean, its just harder to mix when u got so many sounds going on, and i like to have alot of room to get my percussions to cut through the mix all the way. Cheers.

in ganymeda i really love this track. i think the main lead that comes in should have some change in the decay and sustains throughout or maybe just low the filter to make it more percussive. just make it evolve throughout the song a little more.

enlightmentism has a SICK breakdown. right after the snare roll, turn up the volume of that weird effect that builds up before the kick comes back in. it needs more synths in the background though. maybe some 303ish sounds or other melodic arp patterns.

the third song is my fav so far. i really love the build up and melodicness of it all. you should add some delay to the main synth however to make it a little more interesting. good use of piano.

black crystal is very unique. as said earlier i think its the most memorable of them all and the one for a potential label. maybe you could add a flanger slightly to the stabs in the back ground.

Glad u like this one, its my own favorite. What you suggest about the lead is exactly what im going to do, The lead needs dynamic change throughout, ill work on that asap.

Very good suggestion, i know i need to spice up the build up and i`ll try just that.

Yet another great suggestion, i feel there is something missing there for sure. Thanks for comment.

black crystal needs an atmosphere to fill up the back. you could try using a pad to fill it out.
