Review: Behrouz @ Stereo = 10.0 Earthquake at Stereo

That was one infuckincredible night! Behrouz has always now he is definitely my favorite Deejay, over anyone. I was left speechless holding my head in amazement of how he played and mixed; extremely complex, intricate, mind boggling, inside out, up side down, forwards and backwards, fuckin dirty dark dark beats, at the same time inexplicably graceful thunderous house with so much ummph to them some times u just have to stop dancing and just listen. As said on his website "From progressive to tribal...beyond deep and dark, a solid musical core" and it was exactly that. I dont compare Djs but think that was the best real house music Ive heard. And best heard at Stereo. Im glad his nights have not been ram packed makes for much more of an intimate vibe. Stereos beast of system was conquered HARD last night (surely the entire block was shaking)

Hopefully someone else can attest to what I heard

X10

He was in full Pure Behrouz mode. I've been listening to him for years and as you can tell always ranting and raving about him and last night was a testament to how great of a dj he is. Even with the sound problems he just ripped that place to shreds. I couldn't stop dancing and loved every sing track he played. I got to talk to him afterwards and he mentioned his new CD coming out on Nervous called Pure Behrouz NYC. Said around June or July. Really want to get my hands on this cd. What a classy guy as well. Down to earth and full of musical knowledge. Well when is the next date. I might have to catch him in Toronto.

First and foremost, me and my "frangin" reffy would like to thank Erika and Maher for the great night at the stereobar, we had to pleasure to chill with them while Maher and Jeff were spinning, it was really nice, drool all over the equipment, truly fantastic. As for Behrouz, we're honestly disappointed, we came in around 3h15am, at first it was tribal house, we thought ok he might switch later on, then went into some dark prog, it was okay but not more then that, a few pumping beats, a few nice tech house beats, but overall, it was really below our expectations. We're actually watching right now "no country for old men"...yo there's no country for Behrouz hahahaahaha, just kidding.

Ah don't be such a player hater. It was a great night. Everyone was loving the set. Your last comment there is really crude.

baaahhh i added the "just kidding" because i really was, i went that night knowing what Behrouz could deliver, thus why im disappointed cause it didnt really live up that what i expected of him. So that being said, "the night" itself disappointed me, but i know Behrouz is a very good dj , there are a lot of factors to the choice of tracks he laid friday night, the crowd, the venue, tracks and style that didnt really match what i like/expected of him, well from what i'Ve heard of him till now, he probably explored other styles in other mixes i havent heard. i did enjoy some of the beats he dropped, especially the tech ones, but the tribal, dark prog part, not so much(although i do enjoy dark prog). At the end, around the time i left, he was laying down some good beats, but overall, just didnt cut it for me.
