Editing mixed tracks

Im wondering if anyone has ever taken an unreleased track from a djs mixed cd/set and edited it so you can mix it yourself. Ive done this with a couple tracks, the mix usually sounds a little wierd, so I dont play the tracks to often.

Has anyone else done this??

might be possible with a rare few of tunes, but its already being mixed, hence it won't be useful unless u reconstructed it to work again. Some tracks u will never get.

I'm not quite sure what you're saying here - he's asking if people have reconstructed tracks from mixed compilations, so it sounds like you're just repeating what he's already said and not answering the question he asked.

As for me, yes - I've done it with a few tunes. It all depends how much of it makes it into the compilation, whether or not I can find sections of the tune I can loop appropriately in Ableton, and if I can find compatible percussion samples to construct intro and outro phrases.

Most times it's just not worth the effort.

hehe, yea I worded it badly, so to clarify, its not worth it. Your better off remaking the track.

My apologies, it was just a bit of confusion then. And I'd agree, though I will say there are some incredibly talented kids out there who've actually taken the idea of "reconstructions" from shitty and pointless, to actually getting some stuff out there that sounds pro, and that some DJ's otherwise wouldn't have access to.

I REALLY wish I could get my hands on the Desyn edit of "Lifelike and Kris Menace - Discopolis w/ Kings of Tommorrow - Finally (Acapella)"

I don't know if I still have it on my old computer, but at one point I had a high quality copy of the "Finally" acapella.

It'd be pretty easy to remake that mashup, and I'd be happy to try and manage it for you if I can track down that acapella.

I have the acapella, PM with a link sent

Thanks a lot man, if you can pull it off I'd really appreciate it.
I tried to do it a few months back, but with abysmal results, lol.
