do you guys ever feel this way?

I just received two orders in the mail.. and i'm hella happy because i now just added 8 tracks to my repitoire(spelling??) and the tracks are bomb so i'm fucking happy, and i haven't gotten records in a while.. but after listening to them and going about my everyday business.. i'm realizing that i just spent like over $100 (damn the UK pound being worth more than a US dollar, its deceiving to look at the order and see it cost 31.04 but it really equals about $47 us dollars) and now i also realize that i'm pretty broke and won't be able to get new tracks for at least another month

Well, 8 records is a lot.
Familiarize yourself with those 8, before you even have the urge to buy anything else!

agreed w/ eugene.

i just got my first decks.. and bought a collection of 45 hardhouse tracks... i'll be busy for a LONG time with those.

have fun with your new vynil

damn.. 45 records?? in one purchase.. thats insane.. yes i will have much fun w/ these 8 new tracks.. im a slow builder of records.. i don't even have a hundred yet and i been at it for about a year and a half now.. but i also sell a lot of stuff i get so thats probably y my collection goes nowhere.. i gotta sell old stuff to buy new stuff.. but hey, getting new stuff is fun!

trust me.. i'm quite used to it.. buying records isn't new to me but damn how often do u get a lot of 30? and do u like all 30 tracks? i dunno, i guess im kinda picky w/ what i actually want to spend money w/ because me having money is a rare occasion, so i try to only grab stuff i REALLY REALLY want.. ya kno wat im saying? but sheit, if i had cash to blow, i'd pick up anything i remotely thought was worth it

Posted by boomp on May-16-2002 15:27:

if want to stay fresh you'll be needin' bout 8 records a week.

Posted by JohnSmith on May-16-2002 15:35:

i know the feeling dude.

just picked up my techs yesterday, $1488 canadian with the taxes and all.

i've bought about $300 of records in the last while, off of ebay and dancerecords.com.

no, make that $400 i paid $78 for one track i really love (the gamemaster).

now, i am broke as shit. but oh well, i will be mixing soon.

wanna know the worst part? i don't have needles or a mixer yet, so right now, my techs are just sitting in my closet.

yet more money i have to spend. oh well.. what is money for other than spending?

better than blowing it on pot like i used to!

i shop every month (sometimes twice)...thats equals out to about 1 record a day

heck yea they're all good......i listen to them before i buy them

i have a regular job so its no big deal for me

Posted by MERiDiAN5i2 on May-16-2002 16:23:

well.. i got each record for $4 / each, they were used... and this dude had about 170 he was looking to get rid of... so I pawed through his collection and found 45 tracks that I knew.. we have the same taste in music.. so it worked out great!

but now i wanna buy more... but i shouldnt, i should spend time learning these ones! i think i'll save the cash for a nice coffin and a DJM600

Guys, I wanna ask you something a little unrelated:

I really want to buy a certain record, which is available @ Juno and some other online stores. Problem is, it's stupid to buy just one record and pay $12-15 for the shipping, which is even more expensive. However, I REALLY REALLY want this record right now, and don't want to wait till I find some other tunes that I can buy with this one, to justify the shipping cost (and which can take a while). What do you suggest? I'll be paying a total of about $22 for a single record.

why not have a local record shop order it? they could just have it added to thier next shipment

record shops usually don't charge anything high for a special order -- it just comes in with thier next shipment and they hold it for you... atleast that's how it works around here

well, I order all my records on the Web.
There's only one vinyl store here where I live, and I've never even been there, not sure what their policies are.

eugene.. let me give u some advice.. if you REALLY REALLY want it.. fucking buy it because the longer you wait, the more time someone else has a chance to pick it up from under your nose.. just order a couple others if you don't feel satisfied paying teh shipping charge for that one record.. but most people will tell you that if they saw something at a store that they wanted but didn't pick it up, the next time they went to that store, the record is sure enough to be gone!.. well at least that happened to me a couple times, then i decided to just buy shit when i see it because availability is not always on your side!

Juno doesn't charge that much for shipping. As far as I know here's how juno charges:

-If you order 1 record then shipping is 2.40 per record
-If you order 2 records then shipping is 1.90 per record
-If you order 3 records then shipping is 1.70 per record
-If you order 4 records and up then shipping is 1.60 per record

So if you order just that record it will cost you the price of that record + 2.40 which isn't that bad. Offcoarse we live in different places so that might make a difference

EDIT - About the money, they are all in british pounds

Juno for me is the cheapest place to buy records. When I order from the it costs me on average 5 pounds per record which is great, that's 3 pounds cheaper than my local vinyl store.

On average i buy around 10 records a week. Sumthin i done 3 weeks ago was there was a guy who was selling his record collection. He started spinning in 1998 when he was gripped by the uplifting trance phenomena. I bought his 568 vinyls off him for around 200 quid uk pounds.

Basically all the classics are there rite up to all the modernm day stuff. so im building my collection to crazy levels now. Im runnin out of space to keep my choons!
