Playing at a party with carnival theme...
Hey guys,
This weekend I'm playing at a student party with a carnival/latin theme. I have a fair number of tracks which would fit well for the night buth thought I'd ask for some ideas here too!
It's a rather mainstream crowd, so unfortunately I don't think I can play that much of the harder (tribal) stuff, but all ideas are welcome
Also, if you know great crowd pleasers for a mixed crowd feel free to mention them too (doesn't have to be latin/tribal at all, I'm gonna play lots of different stuff).
Play that old Jordan Knight track with the carnival theme in it. Old school (okay, late 90s) pop.

Gloria Estefan and The Miami Sound Machine - Conga (DJ Alfi's Bootleg Remix)

Safri Duo - Played a
?
Thanks for those!
However, I'm not only going to play mainstream stuff so undergroundish/club oriented suggestions are welcome too

I've often thought that Gabriel Ananda - Childish Dream has a bit of a carnival vibe.
sanim - heater always struck me as a song with a weird carnie vibe, i say play it!
nchs09 is this one you thinking of?
Safri Duo- Played-A-Live (The Bongo Song)
Cave - Paseo
Cave - Carnival (I think that's the name. The one from the Tiesto DVD with all the Samba shit)
Cave - Gecko
Check out a lot of Cave stuff, tends to have a very Latin Flavour.
Mojado - Samba Brutal
Mojado - Arena
Mojado - Kali (A more Indian spice but has a nice airy feel to break up the onslaught of drums and still has a good vibe).
Again another artist that uses a lot of Latin percussion. Worth checking out.
A few things to look into.
cheers

open with the luciano remix of cabo san roche - calypso 08 and you will win at life.
the great carnival stuff ep has a few goodies on it, but technica salsa is pure shit. Go with discenerium (sp)
That Sasha Cirque de Soleil track and Carte Blanche. Something about the melody in Carte Blanche reminds me of a giant parade with rhinos doing cartwheels amidst a shower of streamers under a "mission accomplished" banner and ******** tossing about a baton.
What about Dario G ?
"pleas don't stop the soca" is the perfect track....
Hermes House Band - Disco Samba Part II
Junior Jack - E-Samba
Nuevo Cafe Latino -Samba Feliz
Cuba Club - Cuba
DD
DJ Meme Feat. Rogerio Flausino - Chanson Du Soleil (Reloaded Mix)
ALDO FELIPE - Best Of Me (Club Mix)
denoizer feat pachanga - loco 2007

Da Hool - Meet her at the love parade
Global experience - Madras
Richard Durand - Sunhumps
Depends if you mean more of a latino style carnival, or a Dutch trance-fest type carnival
