More stolen music

quote:
On Saturday night, May 2nd, my laptop bag was stolen from Centrum Club in Erfurt. We as djs and artists dedicate our entire energy and spirit to what we do. We work very hard to present music in our own special way. There is no better feeling than knowing that you and the people on the dancefloor are completely connected and knowing that we can share that feeling of excitement from hearing a new special track. In the end, we are not there to play for ourselves but for the people who support us and our music. I am deeply sad and disappointed to know that something like this could happen, especially in the dj booth, the one place where things should be safe. I feel like I have been stripped of the one thing that is closest to my heart. We are all in this together and we must respect each other, otherwise there is no point.

If you have any information about my missing items please contact [email protected]

That really does suck, Magda seems like a very nice person.

Far, far easier said than done.

i had a lot of sympathy, until i read what jpls reported what magda told him:

"so the booth in that club is quite open. it has a couch and behind everything is open so people have easy access all around. there is only a railing......there were only 3 people in the booth with me. after i played i packed my laptop and HD into my laptop bag which goes into my bigger travel case with the rest of the equipment. i closed the case and went to the bathroom. i returned 5 minutes later, grabbed my case and left the club. someone must have gone into my case and took the entire laptop bag with laptop, HD, and headphones. i have no other explanation."

Why do people steal these laptops anyway?

I can't imagine getting any satisfaction out of releasing someone else's tracks under my name.

Possibly, but just from a personal standpoint, my laptop is one of my most prized possession, and basic rules about things you love or are worth something are to keep them near your person and keep checking them.

Perhaps a club scenario and while Dj'ing it's easier to lose track, so I'll give him the benefit of doubt..just about.

wasn't me, before anyone says anything...

Give her?

I'm just saying, when you're a full time DJ traveling the world and going from club to club, it's not easy to be vigilant, especially if the environment is comfortable and there are a lot of friends around, easy to let your guard down, and it only takes a moment...

I suppose. I was saying I wouldn't let it happen myself. Maybe when I become the globe trotting DJ I'm charted out to be, I'll slip up and learn from it

Still wondering why people would steal the laptop in the first place...

Hungry for unreleased tracks?

Posted by Az on May-07-2008 01:22:

i'm pretty keen on getting the click box stuff, pretty sure i wouldn't steal her laptop for it though....
on a side note, I hope noones stolen my tracks

Posted by MeLLyMeL on May-07-2008 01:28:

I agree with MrJive. Why would people go out to support an artist and do something as shady as that.

Poor Magda. Can't wait to see her. 3 weeks to recoup shit she lost!

Install tracking software into your laptops or something. Also make sure someones watching your shit when you have to take a shit.

Would never happen if she was a real DJ and only played vinyl like real DJ's who only play vinyl and are real techno DJ's in reality.

...

Inappropriate.

There probably are, but maybe a keylogger in case there isnt. You could use it, in case anyone who comes up with the laptop uses the laptop for their own personal use, you can get info like their screenames or emails they log into while using your laptop, and then track them down through isp's and correspondance with the FBI or police perhaps.
