A new TA
If the majority votes to correct obvious lack of knowledge on spelling we will do so in a friendly manner. I for one am tired of seeing horribly misspelled words that are not typos. So, we get the vote, we help people learn to spell in English
I just dont want to be the only one who is leaving 40 posts saying ...pritee is spelled pretty... et cetera. It will help everyone in the end I think vote if you care
correct is please!! It is a bad influence on me and will eventually mess up my spelling! We need to rot out the Evil that is bad spelling!
leafv it alonge!
who carexz?? sometgines i type raelly fast and if you know hatw they are saying, whoc ares????

Sorry but i added a Aint fussed option. Personally i dont care, the net is the only place u can type and be different, use z's instead of s's. u have to write correctly 99% of the time when ur away from the pc, in life and work, the net is the one place u can be different and mess about, take that away and everything will slowly just become the same, no matter where you are.
as eevryone know im a notriously bad typer, and if u knew me, horrible writer!
i use loadsa short words like "tho" and "cud" etc. nad type words wrong time n time agen like "jsut" and "liek" but i think after a while people get used to my shitness
but the shrotneing does encourage bad spelling habiits in exams n sruff, im always using "u" insted of "you"

" net slang
!!! NOOO NEEEEED!!!!
hmm...i don't mind it
...just hope the people know how to spell correctly & just type wrong for convenience
...would hate to try and read someone's writing if they had messy handwriting AND couldn't spell!

For the most part, I find it quicker if I just spell things properly. I don't really mind people using shit like "u" "4" and all that jazz, but any **** using the 'word' L337 needs a boot upside their arse.
spel chekcing in fro nerds
What do you do if you use net spelling because you've been doing so for 4 years?
I started IRCing in 1999, and it's commonplace for one to type kewl instead of cool, simply because it looks nicer.
There's tonnes of stuff like that.
w/e = weekend
yester = yesterday
fank j00 = a cuter way of saying 'thank you'
These and others have been drilled into my brain, and I dont feel the need for exact and perfect speeling of words coz it aint really important.
Cheerz

ps. If this policy were to follow thru, I'd hafta change my nick to crouton wouldn't I?
damnit people read the post. its for things where people are obviously just dumb. Not typos or purposely misspelled words! Net spelling is correct spelling in a sense. Then there is just "Oh ive heard this word before but never seen it written so ill give it a try" that what im talking about. Not every lil thang where peeps are using shortcutz and odd letterz
so, to reiterate, just simple messages correcting the long words people get messed up on. Its the ones where you look at it and you think to yourself "thats an i not an e" at the beginning of a word or something. This helps people not looks like an ass when writing things. I understand that many people take verbal shortcuts and there are acronyms and n/a kind of stuff. so this is for the rare occasion when a TA uses a big word, and then happens to spell it incorrectly.
ive decided ill do it anyways
muah muah muah
I really don't have a problem with excessive typos (I believe that's what you are referring too) so long as you can keep them to a minimum.
What I really can't stand are "Net abbreviations" like 'u' (you) and 'ur' (you are). The worse is 'd00d' (dude). I just really find those annoying.
Yeah that 'd00d' is just soooo naff ... and what's even worse is all that stupid wannabe-a-script-kiddie shit where people write their names with aLtErNaTe CaPiTaL aNd SmAlL lEtTeRs <--- what the fuck is that, is that supposed to look cool? It's like the emperor's new clothes ... they all do it because someone thought it was cool and it's so ingrained now that no one stands up and says 'hey this looks fuckin PUMP why are we all doing it?'
Oh yeah and when people end all their plurals with the letter 'Z' instead of 'S'. 'Pluralz', like

Well my spelling is crap. But the development of the txt messaging boom has left most teenagers in the UK with short hand writtin. Missin things out, n stuff. I try not 2 do it, but it happens. Oh and i am lazy, so it is quicker
I say correct it. Why? Not everyone can understand that garbage that is "'Net Spelling". Plus, it messes up your spelling capabilities. I use UK/world spellings so, my words are usually long and correct to most people around the world, NOT JUST USA (no "color", "center", "organization" it's "colour", "centre", "organisation", etc.).
Speaking of, why does USA have different English from the rest of the world? It only confuses people who don't know English even more.
my spelling is correct only when im writing my assignments at school, but here on the net its mostly the "Net Spelling", everybody here understands it and use it... so i dont mind it and i dont really care about it...

spelled correctly.
my boss at work does not spell check his stuff before he sends it out to our customers.

argh correct the spelling...
hard to understand some of the variations of the words
I dont care if people miss spell stuff, or use "net speak", as long as it doesn't get to the point were you can not understand them. Meh, I wonder how many errors I have in this post alone
