Review: Audiofly / Heidi / M.A.N.D.Y. @ The Social

Mayhem.

Pretty rammed in there all night, and quality tunes were played from everyone on the bill. You would have thought it was WMC Toronto edition as every DJ, club owner, and promoter from le t. was there. Nice to hear some deepness from Heidi and Audiofly in the early goings. Was VERY surprised to hear Manuel Tur, DPlay - Deviate (Original Mix) a track I've been loving for a month or so played by both Heidi and Audiofly. M.A.N.D.Y. came on and it just got out of hand. Amazing shit at the beginning, but lost me towards the end with some breaky stuff.

All in all, a wicked Wednesday night. Glad I was there for it.

Was that the song that sounded like German polka chanting? (best way I can describe it?)

If so, it was my main catalyst for leaving lol did NOTHING for me at all...

edit: I thought it was "lava lava" coming in, and I was about to jump through the roof only to be let down

Shame / Disagreement Douchebag Darrell

So Douchebag Darrell comes up to me and says "hey, get out of the way I want to talk to the girl behind you". Confused, I don't move and ask him to repeat himself. Darrell says "forget it, you scared her away" to which I reply "No, YOU scared her away".

Douchebag inquires "What do you mean by that?" to which I retort "well either she didn't think you were hot, or maybe she thought you were trying to pick me up". Darrell says "Are you calling me a homo?" and I quickly respond "maybe, do you think I'm cute?".

Douchebag Darrell gets VERY upset with all this and starts freaking out getting in my face and puffing up his chest like some exotic bird trying to impress the females. I mock him a little, pretending to apply lipstick and puckering my lips, after which I put the biggest shit-ass grin on my face and just smile at him while he goes on yelling about how he is going to fight me and I am going to be sorry.

Margaret and Jay stepped in and attempted to deflect Douchebag's verbal aggression while I winked at him and acted coy. Obviously Darrell has some sexual identity issues as he took out his insecurities on all 3 of us.

Thanks to Margaret and Jay I was safe from Douchebag Darrell's empty threats and over-the-top masculine puffery.

I still think he thought I was cute. I had my hair done up all German-style for Heidi & M.A.N.D.Y.. He even brought his douchebag-posse of friends over to check me out.

A freaky lover, drips chocolate on your chest"

Or something like that.

Think those two things have anything in common? :P

Seriously that was a lot of fun...haven't been involved in club drama for ages. Funny part is I am standing between RJ and Darryl and he tells me that we better be careful cause he's there with friends and how he should go get them. I tell him to just walk away and enjoy himself and he does (all the while RJ is behind me with this grin just getting him more mad). Five minutes later buddy comes back with 2 friends...one of which is the Drink monkey (as I call him and I'm sure most of you know who I am refering too) and they just stand in front of me...I actually kinda wanted something to happen at that time cause then the story would have grown to be Epic instead of just good.

Good times RJ...I got your back anytime.

I knew I should have put more of the lyrics in my phone but from what I remember cause I did google what I thought it was and I was right - not many song lyrics in the google search

http://www.google.com/search?q=dirt...ex=&startPage=1

Good song would love to find it...

M.A.N.D.Y --> pure Techhouse goodness
Audiofly --> nothing special , they were better last time

Have to strongly disagree with this. Audiofly was good if not better than even last time @ Social.

MANDY lost me pretty quick, and I left...had hangover regardless today...

To JennyPie's comment on the crowd....I would generally agree, except the party and crowd last night was exceptional. A confluence of everyone from different scenester tribes was there to enjoy good music, and on a Wednesday night no less...that was kinda special...I truly wish we could see that kind of no politics no bullshit get together event where people leave their personal garbage behind and support great artists coming to the city for the sake of the music.
