The Black Dog

Anyone a fan?

I ordered their last album the other day (3xLP) - sounded pretty massive from the clips.

The "Book of Dogma" compilation of rereleases that came out a few years back is to this day one of the most sound music purchases I've ever made.

This release, particularly the track "It Felt Like It", is what go me hooked in The Black Dog. The rest is history.

The Black Dog is definitely not the same without the Plaid "part" of the band. Temple Of Transparent Balls, Spanners and especially the Bytes compilation are classics that will never be surpassed. Hovewer, Ken Downie somewhat succeeded to recreate the atmosphere of the first records on fantastic Silenced from 2005, and less successful on the new Radio Scarecrow. These new albums are less experimental, but more ambient and techno oriented, which is not a bad thing, but for me Plaid material is definitely more exciting. Can't wait for them to release some new stuff...
