Well I've just finished giving this a second listen, and I have to say this is a drastic improvement over the last mix, Max. I struggled to come up with constructive criticism for the last one because while I thought all the tracks were ace (you have impeccable taste in dance music), I thought the mixing and programming were pretty rough and I just didn't know how to say that without sounding like a complete arse. It just didn't seem to have flow.

This one does. Boy-oh-boy does it ever.

Basically once that Milton Jackson and Shur-I-Kan tune hits you've really hit your stride with this one, and just rode the kind of deep house vibe all the way to the Stryke tune at the end. I did like a bit of the dubbier stuff in the beginning, but I have to say that this one was all about the kind of ethereal, deep, dubby house that I really don't pay as much attention to anymore as I used to. This one definitely made me stand up and take note.

Beyond flow, your mixing in this one seems a drastic improvement from your last effort. I really felt like you managed to EQ things much better, and in general felt like the phrasing of your mixes (which is where your last one suffered, IMO) was absolutely spot on in this one.

Will be kicking it around for a while m8. Good work.

Great news bobby, I'm sure I'll be over at Mark's place at some point this weekend so I'll get his forgetful ass to send you those pix.

Rob! Thanks for giving this a listen dude, your feedback is really important to me. I totally hear what you are saying with my previous mix, and I blame most of the eq'ing and dynamics problems on my newbness with my ableton template at the time. I had just got my ecler evo 5 and was loving the delay waaaaay too much for my own good. As a result, it wasn't nearly as clean as it should have been. However, I did try to learn from that mistake with this one and I'm really glad you can see that it shines through.

Of all the people I've been getting feedback from, most are saying that the funky stuff towards the middle and end of the mix was their favorite part. That was definitely my favorite part of this mix too, so it seems like thats a direction I'm gonna try to flesh out more and more with every new mix I do.

Again I really appreciate you taking the time to give me some constructive criticism, and I will certainly return the favor with domestic technology. I'm lookin forward to seein' both of you guys at Burridge and seeing what the fall brings once I'm back in town Do give a shout if you can make it out to Boston this summer, there will be some great private parties and afterparties going down!!

Grabbing this now.

I am pretty much with Rob on this one. I couldn't find the thread in the local section to comment so I'll just post it here. I checked the last one out, couldn't really get into to it. This one is MUCH improved, not exactly my style of music but overall much better then the last one. Nice one duder.
