De-sceneing folder & file names
I have a bunch of folder named like this:
DJ_Shah_Meets_Jan_Johnston-Beautiful-Vinyl-2006-POW
and files named like this:
03-dj_shah_meets_jan_johnston-beautiful__high_noon_at_salinas_mix-vinyl-pow.mp3
Is there any way I can automatically convert these to a format like Artist - Date - Album (Extra Info) [Media Type]\## - Title (Mix Info).mp3 ??
The tags are all truncated ID3v1 tags, so I can't just rename the files from the tags. Also, the Album fields in the tags are often non-existant or have pointless info like the release group name. If anyone can help me out with this, thanks very much. BTW, as different scene groups have different conventions, it may not be possible to use a file renamer to parse all folder names the same way. Now, I may be able to revise this easily if that scene release group name was removed from the folder & file names.
Thanks very much...
Look for a utility called G6 Renamer I believe. Its been a while but if I remember right, it was created by a fellow TA and in my experience, was one of the best batch renaming tools I have ever come across.
And download legally for chrissakes.
