yup but it was a debate based off Battle Mango which was being run on the Food Network in the bar last night. these were the iron chefs at that time. despite his excellent record, symon was excluded from consideration as he has not competed in a significant number of battles. these were the four to compete head to head for the longest time. symon only joined in November 07, i'm not aware of Morimoto officially leaving but just not competing.

I have only seen a handful of episodes...so my opinion is bound to be skewed. But it sure seems like the iron chefs win a hell of a lot more than the competitors, even though the judges comments may seem to be in favour of the competitors.

Also, my bf's favorite saying is "IIIIIEEEEE CUISINE!"

Bobby Flay is my favourite. Cat Cora would come a close second.

I was wondering how to spell it....I knew I was wrong! Haha Thanks

Posted by slingshot on May-10-2008 20:25:

Masaharu Morimoto first, then Cat Cora....

I can't stand Mario Batali.... honestly, I look for flavour, not fat content.

obviously you know nothing about fine cuisine....

The french use tubs of lard, yet you would never know it when eating a plate of food prepared by a master french chef in a bistro. The secret is making it look/ taste like you used nothing....

My reasoning behind saying Mario's food looks like it is all fat content is you literally can see and taste the fat (oils, pastas, etc) oozing on the plate (Italian food). Some like it, I on the other hand do not. Fine cuisine shines through the flavour of the actual product, not the sauce on it, hence why the "secret ingredient" must always be the star of each plate they make.

Does anyone else think he looks a lot like RJ?

For the record, any of the Japanese Iron Chefs could school any one of these guys.

Totally. American versions just never got it quite right. They need to put the old ones back into syndication.

i watch this show all the time... and im yet to see cat cora get challenged ... women in the kitchen?

Posted by iant56 on May-11-2008 03:14:

I love when guys get so testy about female chef's when it's often said that a woman's place is barefoot, pregnant and in the kitchen. How hypocritical.
