french house

ive noticed that french people have been in love with the 80's ever since it has ended, and their electronic music is largely influenced by that.

im looking for songs that are similiar to the 'work it baby" label

stuff that is similiar to lifelike, alan braxe, fred falke, etc.

Thumbs up

I just bought Fred Falke - Last Wave

I'm no expert though

seems like there's a French House thread popping up every couple of months in MD, try a search and I'm sure you'll find some stuff that your looking for

I think much more influence came out of Belgium, really.
But about half the county speaks French, the other half speaks Dutch and to be accurate, a small part speaks German.

Who doesn't remember Bonzai Records?

And yes TrancArmstrong, I also had a Rendez-Vous feeling about this topic.

No, it's not like Daft Punk are as famed as Madonna.

Probably I misunderstood the topic...(again)
The name French House is not used a lot I guess.
Daft Punk, Cassius, Bob Sinclar and Stardust I know, but I never saw there work as a different genre.
I never understood that if something sounds a bit different it should get a different name.

I love French House. Check out the new release in my sig, if not for the track itself but for the artist, Kris Menace.

Yeah, its just mainstream funky/disco house really. Its just that some people like Ishkur are maniac about these sub-genre fragmentations. Or they are just taking the piss. I like Daft Punk/Stardust.

Actually I would consider french house in a league of its own because unlike disco house, french house is VERY acid oriented.

edit: I hate genre wars too but the name should be kept alive. Disco/funky house and french house work marvels together obviously, though.

That's why I call all of that just House. Acid House, Disco House, Club House, Funky House, how many are there?

By the way, why isn't it called Acid House? Just because Acid House was many years earlier? Indeed stupid genre wars.
