What;s with the talking when the DJ is playing????
I just listen to the ASOT 350 and you can hear a guy talking shit and stuff when the dj's are spinning, saying thins like the best, the only and a lot of crap and also using echo.
Why they use this guy to talk shit?? I hate that, if I go to a party I go to hear the music and dance not to hear a moron talking stuff......
I know this is not new...but now I want to ask...
Why they use this guys to talk shit??
Supposedly to hype the crowd.
I'm kind of alright with it on a radio when its a breakdown. I recently played a guestmix on the radio and during a big breakdown the Radio DJ spoke on the microphone but got off when the climax was about to hit.
Can be quite effective sometimes...
i hate it, one of the main reasons i rarely listen to drum and bass now a day
they use MC when they know the show will be quite boring

Johan Geilen mced his own set once. Telling the crowd to believe in yourself, during breakdons. Yep, terrible.

MCing can be very good, very driving, very effective....and very annoying at times.

The MC has been part of the DJ setup forever, but very under developed and poorly used. When used well and MC can incite great feelings up power, freedom, and triumph.

The only MC I can tolerate - and perhaps even enjoy, is sven vath's random alcohol and psychose-induced instances screaming at the crowd in an unintelligible manner.

Haha many people including myself hate that shit, especially that guy because he's so damn annoying
MC's are fucking retarded, and whoever thought that MC in TRANCE would work needs to be shot.
It was a culture shock the first time I went to Dance Valley, those crazy dutchy
MC's do work in rare occasions. Like Tiesto @ Energy 2000. The MC was spot on in all but one part of it

Everytime I hear MC'ing over a set it makes me want to kill myself.
A good MC for a trance set is someone who speaks just at the right time, keeps it short and knows when to shut up for the most part.
A good example would be, Paul Van Dyk Trance Energy 2003, it's only at the beginning during the breakdown of the second track. There's no more MC thereafter.
