Bomfunk Mc's

Some guy @ work said that DJ Gismo (one of the members in the group) died a few years ago in a drug overdose, is this true? Anyone knows?

I think you have been misinformed. I could be wrong tho.

Info on Bomfunk Mc's is pretty hard to find, but I do know that the main chap is JS 16, guy behind Rosegarden and Lights Go Wild and the remix of Lifter. Not sure about the others though

Freestylers was so awesome though

I doubt that's true.

Ismo Lappalainen aka DJ Gizmo left Bomfunk MC's in 2002 and in 2003 formed a rock band named Stonedeep with a bunch of other guys and has been involved with that ever since, under the alias of Anargismo. Apparently they're planning to release an album, after a few promos were released back in 2004.

Their myspace or homepage doesn't say anything about Ismo's death either.

They're not too active updating the pages tho yet the myspace page for example was last logged in on Sunday. Haha!

How excellent were the Push remixes of Life your Life? Very.

JS16 is also one half of Dallas Superstars, who are (or have been), if i'm not mistaken, producing together with Darude

JS16, aka Jaako Salovaara essentially "made" Darude.

See interview here.

I didn't realise Jaako was part of Bomfunk MCs, I just thought he had produced their first few albums.

Love In Stereo. Not the highest quality piece album, but a shit heap of fun.

Darude = Ville Virtanen but Jaakko Salovaara aka JS16 produced the first Darude album and then he produced most of Darude's 2nd album together with Heikki Liimatainen aka Bostik/Modulation. If i'm not all wrong, Bostik and Joonas Hahmo aka 1/2 of ALT+F4 were involved in the producing of Darude's 3rd album.

JS16 and Bostik are Dallas Superstars.

Yes alot of it is really good indeed. Sadly some not so good ones always seem to get most of the attention.

Oddly,I think every second track on In Stereo is awesome (2,4,6 and so on). I don't like the others that much

As for Darude: Rush is one of my alltime favourite albums

Just as you thought, he kinda made Bomfunk MC's, as he made Darude. Produced an album or so to get them going. He's not a member.

According to discogs, he wrote In Stereo.

No one else is credited.

I see what you're saying, he's not part of them, but he did write all their tracks, so he may as well be.

Yeah, but that's kinda like saying that a bunch of guys are Britney Spears because they write her songs.
