Labels and remix packs

I read something about labels sending out remix packs. Is this true and if so, how do I get in on this?

If you're an established producer, it could help you with getting remix packs from some labels. Usually the label does the searching for remixers i believe.

Also if you're signed to a label, you could ask for remix packs or they could ask you.

Yes generally lables sort the proper remixes out. Once you start to get good lables will aproach you. Usually 25% is normal.

A flat rate?.. of wat?. I'd love it sumone payed me a flat rate! rofl. In my epoerience you get 25% along wirth the original artist. 50% is great good going.

sometimes flat rates... some time %'s it depends on the label and the project

at least in my experience.

and to the op.. the best way to get remixes is to ask.. or make friends with someone who releases on the label you are looking to remix... and have them ask the label if you can remix one of their tracks.

I think if it comes to vinyls, you get a remix fee.

Digital releases work different.

thats how i remeber it!

I think its more about who you are... The labels gonna pay you the least they can, so if your a small name who probably won't sell that many units, they'll pay a %, otherwise they'll go for a flat rate so they don't have to pay you much when it blows up.
