Dog Running Pendulum - In Silico

Anyone else disappointed by the new album? Was hoping for another quality album but ive not been impressed really. Only had chance for a couple of listens through so maybe i need to give it more of a chance because i quite like both the singles. Just wished they had stuck more to their dnb roots i think.

oh and first person to call them Fisher Price dnb and shit wins the prize

I've yet to hear it, but I don't expect much. Ever since their last album, their productions have got progressively worse and I really don't expect much.

Listened to their samples off myspace and it sounded pretty terrible.

An album for emo kids to add to their myspace lists and say they like "everything".

Are these guys like the Infected Mushroom of drum 'n bass or something?

Pretty much.

The post-HYC Pendulum singles have been very dodgy, forsaking any of the inventive production or genre-fusion in favour of MASSIVE ANTHEM simplicity that really gets boring. I'll give this album a full review on TC soon but I'm not expecting much.

Wow, kind of does suck a lot... disappointing.

I refuse to listen to anything by them post-2005 as it may taint my image of them

That's exactly it.

They're beyond clownstep at this point. Now it's just shitstep.

I'm just dissapointed because i was expecting so much. I might like it more after a few more listens, but over all i will still feel rather let down!

+1

There is a person on my bebo who did exactly this, added pendulum music vids and stated that he now has an 'elite' music taste :P (he also used to be emo)

Edit: pendulum is fisher price DnB, gimme prize plz =)

I really liked Hold Your Color. In fact I only discovered it because "Slam" was a freebie on Beatport. I never really listened to DnB before that album. Shame that the new album isn't very good.

Actually if people would listen to the album with little less expectations and a little more open minded, they would agree that its not a bad album at all!

Its not a new hold your colour. Theyre mixing things up with rock & industrial this time instead. Many tracks remind me of Rage against the Machine or Prodigy and I like it.

So try to listen to it without prejudice, dont expect another album full of Breakbeat Kaosish drum&bass anthems and be ready to discover something new.

I'd give this album a strong 7/10
