Ripoffs you have come across.

so we're in a new house, with no cable jacks/RJ45/RJ11s, so they call bell to get the RJ11s hooked up (phone jack) and they want to charge $55 each jack.

do you know how incredibly ridiculous that is? its about $0.10 for the jack, and 8 seconds of crimping.

anyways i'm gonna do them for free. man, i could make a killing going around crimping cables for people at rates like that.

I was just thinking today, "how soon until beatport is charging 3 dollars a song?"

Pretty much anything retail is a rip-off. Paying over $50 for a console game is a rip, especially when 99% of releases are garbage.

right now, the cost of living in the UK. Food has gone up about 30-40% in the last 12 months, fuel is about 30% higher in price too over the same period.

How is the general view over there?? Are people freaking out like they are in the US? Our economy is shit compared to most nowadays, and with all the price hikes, it won't be long before crime is gonna go way up.

indeed. It's the basics which is causing shit, and some of the media is also winding us up about it all of the time which causes panic. Things are going up quite a bit though, for example i buy all my salad stuff seperately & a green pepper has gone from 68 pence (just over a dollar) to 99pence. Bread was 95pence a loaf and is now 1.25. Added to that the fuel costs, which has gone from about 97.9p for both unleaded and diesel to 127.9p for diesel and 115.9p for unleaded in places, means we're being hit in the pocket twice. Personally I'm doing my best when buying ingredients to take advantage of offers as much as possible.

I can guarantee that unless something huge happens, that Labour will lose the government control in the next election, whenever it may be. Nobody likes gordon brown anyway and he used to run the economy which has given us this mess now, so there will be a change in gov, which means the conservatives will take over, the lib dems & others have no realistic chance.

the bigger things include also that mps themselves are giving themselves huge pay rises whilst others struggle to make ends meet. It's going to get much worse than it is now, and soon imo.
