Advices on my track
Hey there
Here's my first track using FL Studio.
http://www.goear.com/listen.php?v=344a8d6
It'd be nice if you listen at it and make me some advices about I dunno... the melody, effects I could apply, maybe some instruments and so.
I know there's a lot to improve in percussion. I'm working in collaboration with beat blog (from these forums too). I did what you're listening at, and he'll make some nice percussions for it.
This sounds pretty good. I would recommend more atmosphere. Maybe give some of your elements a little more reverb. Or use some more pads. Other then that I would say percussion need more work. but you already said your friend is going to aid you in that.
Can't wait to hear the final version!
Its a nice tune and got potential but too me it just sounds overall quite underproduced. It all sounds quite raw and unprocessed to me and the hats are prolly the worst part and dnt help to make the rest of it sound ne better. The kick is barely even there. All the drums need to be louder. Past the 2 minute point they just start to dissapear.
Prolly just a personal thing but the synths sound very plain and raw, like they need some more texture in there. And also for a track that i assume you want to sound really massive it needs more sweeping going on in it.
I agree that it needs more verb and pads maybe. Texture.
Good luck hope this is helpfull
Thanks for your comments
Seems like I forgot to tell how newbie I am. I'm almost totally new to trance. I discovered trance music past year and loved it (before that I composed metal). I need you to help me with some definitions, please:
Atmosphere: what I understand for atmosphere is a background smooth sound that gives an harmonic base to the track. Am I right?
Texture: what do you mean with texture? More like supersaw or something? I dunno, I like the sounds I put in it. I guess it's my personal taste
Pads: what are the differences between pads and synths? I thought they were the same thing (I told you I was a complete newbie
).
Sweeping: ???
As for the drums, I didn't even put effort on them, since beat blog is going to make them.
Oh, and I'll try with more reverb.
Sorry for asking so many things, and thanks again for your help
Love the beat, and the layout of your song
however, as much as i appreciate your build, I was kinda disappointed at the end to the choice you made in making it just a soft song.
I think the tune you go going there would work really really well had it had a climax...this just sounds like a five minute long break.
7.5/10
keep up the good work

@ dj_tralam: Thanks for your comments. As for the climax thing, the track isn't done yet, so I still can make changes. Be looking forward for it.
@ Vortex_SA: Thanks for all that useful info!
As for the metal thing, you like metal too? Pretty cool! Did you check my other songs in GoEar? Maybe it isn't the metal style you like, but take them a look anyway

PS: Some of these are just synthesized, and others don't even have a guitar
