Champions League Final - Chelsea FC vs Manchester United

Chelsea FC vs Manchester United

After a tough league fight in the English Premiership, Manchester United scraped through to take the title over Chelsea by 2 points. However, in their last meeting a few weeks ago it was Chelsea who came out on top. Who will win this tightly contested grudge match?

I`d rather have Chelski win, but Man U scum IMO is more talented, certainly with Rooney and Ronaldo up front.

I rather chelski win than manure, but manure like the above poster says are favorites going in.

I first started watching Champions League in 1998, and my heart fell for Man United that same season. I became disappointed in their style of play throughout the following years, but I think they deserve to win it for Giggs and especially Scholes, who missed out on the final in 1999. Drogba is a machine though, and if anybody can perform on the big day, it'll be him.

lol

do you support leafs too?? '67 i believe it was...

Posted by DiskoBiskit on May-21-2008 18:37:

Liverpool last won the Champions league in 2005. They lost in the final last year...

I think that's closer than 67.

And NO, I'm from Liverpool actually. Born and raised there.

The Leafs ARE shite..

Posted by Endlesswave on May-21-2008 21:49:

Yes, yes the Leafs ARE shyte.

I am hoping for Chelsea just b/c of what I know of them being the underdog.

Posted by PurpleHaze on May-21-2008 22:25:

Great game.

I thought Chelsea actually had it when ****** Ronaldo missed his PK.

FUCK MAN U!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by yankeeBaby on May-21-2008 22:29:

haha SUCKAS!!!!! MANU FTMFW!!!!

Too bad all these threads are ruining the results, tho. I wanted to go home and watch it!!

Posted by Special K on May-21-2008 22:31:

i'm indifferent to both teams (ie. I equally dislike all english teams)

but I liked the end result

...

ie. drogba being sent off and ronaldo missing a pk

Posted by DiskoBiskit on May-22-2008 03:12:

Yep - happy Drogba was sent off. The arrogant shit fouled Liverpool all over the place in the semi final.

As for Ronaldo, HA! Steven Gerrard is right behind him with regards to the most goals. Maybe united will sell him to Spain now. Either way, it must has knocked his confidence a little.

How can you hate all English teams? lol England created the modern sport of Football as we know it today. (although the chinese actually invented the very first version... Made in China.. lol)

Posted by Adamo on May-22-2008 03:23:

quite the travesty....fuck man u....just got back from the TFC game...at least they won.

T O R...........O N T........OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO TFC!!!!!!!!!!

Posted by loca on May-22-2008 03:24:

Beyond disappointed. I've been a Chelsea supporter for 8 years now and I can honestly say I'm absolutely gutted

Fucking Drogba. I knew he was going to fuck up, I could just see it happen. He can shoulder the bloody blame for them going into penalties and losing, stupid git.

I don't often watch football but I had an englishman explaining everything to me today so I figured what the hell, and gave it a go.

Found myself yelling at the TV and getting right into it. Quite a good match and happy with the end result. Was very exciting to say the least

Gutted. Absolutely gutted.

Little known fact: Drogba was at the top of the table for fouls committed this Champions League with 37. A deserved red.

Man United is thriving on nothing but a streak of luck. chelsea is by far a better, faster and stronger team. chelsea perhaps has one of the best defensive lines in europe with a duo at central defence stronger than any i've seen. dont forget mr. cech either. besides buffon, cech is by far one of the top goalkeepers in europe. inter milan recently offered him something around 25 million i believe. chelsea however their flaws. i think the first thing chelsea needs to reconsider is management. avram grant im sorry to say is a fairly weak manager who does not have any experience whatsoever managing top class players. just because he managed Benayoun on the isreali team does not mean the guy can succeed at managing top players. strategically, grant seems to be very novice. deploying 5 man midfield against a team this is extremely attack oriented is perhaps one of the dumbest things i've seen in football. drogba really needs to clean up his attitude. he seems to really be distancing himself from the team since mourinho's departure. understandably, drogba and jose were close but football is a very volatile sport. i dont think selling drogba will be a serious blow to chelsea. the striker is almost 30 and chelsea really needs to start look ing at some younger prospects. arsene wengers youth policy is brilliant but you still need to maintain a balance between youth and experience. either way, with some restructuring, chelsea can pose one of the biggest threats to the current champions next season.
