question is... Hard Dance Yoji... or electro house Yoji?????

not going if it's not the crazy Yoji that play Hard Dance Sensation Black stuff!!!

Posted by vigvigler on May-19-2008 19:55:

I got to see him play November of last year in Tokyo, and he was playing some hard-a$$ trance. It wasn't as hard hard like I've seen him do some sets when he was playing pretty much "Hardstyle" back in the day, but it blows the socks off the candy trance getting played normally around these parts..

Alain you going to have a GL for this event? just heard the set thats on the thread and this guy sounds nuts! might have to head up to the city for a long weekend

Posted by TheMETHOD on Jun-07-2008 19:09:

So I have been added to this line-up with YOJI this is going to be nuts! 1st San Francisco appearance for this guy! He is also Japan's #1 DJ, I haven't seen anyone mention that so far.

This show is going to be AWESOME!!!

If you want to see a cool video, watch this of him playing at sensation black back in 2004. To be honest when I first saw this video a couple years ago I was like woah... who the F is that dude?!? Then I did my homework

BTW does anyone remember back when I use to close 1015 (either the upstairs or the basement) I played hard like this, those sure were some fun times!

No you didnt you played CHEESE.
Are you trying to put yourself in the same catagory as Yoji? HAHA.

SPUNDAE, is Yoji sticking to the way he always plays, or is he playing different because he is playing Ruby Skye? Please tell me he's not. I find going to Ruby Skye for big Djs they always end up sucking cause they dont play the way they do elsewhere.

Well ok, if you say so... I have always done my best to select quality tunes to share with everyone, staying away from almost all vocal trance tracks and fluffy melodic stuff. As I've found from years of DJing it is impossible to please everyone all the time, sure there are a few tracks i use to think were good I now would never play but people at the time liked them and looking back thats really all that matters.

As I posted in another thread being a DJ IMO IS about pleasing the crowd with some popular tunes, but at the same time it is also about sharing and educating the audience with new music. A good DJ can find that balance as every crowd is different.

and finally... of course I am not trying to imply I am in the same catagory as YOJI, just that I use to play harder tunes. Many people these days know me for my progressive trance and electro opening sets at Ruby Skye.

I've posted an old mix of harder club tunes that I use to play at Club 1015 in 2003/2004, I was all vinyl back then but a good mix none the less. http://www.hottrance.com/node/286 (download or listen online!)

Enjoy!
